Bulldog 9300XT wireless winch help!!

Hey guys just recently purchases the bulldog 9300XT wireless winch. When I plugged in straight to my battery it sparked and smoked now nothing will work and not sure if it's key fab or receiver. Next question is what's the best and easiest way to supply it power rather then a second battery? Just to say it was going on a stock Scx10 electronics. Any help would be appreciated.

You can power it through a bec , How many volts did you try?

What kind of battery did you power it with? Probably too high of Voltage! Make sure only use 7.2V battery!

I'm using a speedpack 1800mah 7.2v 6 cell nimh.. I'm a total noob to the crawler scene I'm learning as I go.

If I use a relay I need to change out plugs on esc and battery, unless they have adapters.

I am using the RC4WD Warn winch wired controller. I am impressed so far! It is rated to 11.1V. I run the controller through channel 3 on my Rx. I have no issues with my setup. I am using the RC4WD Warn 9.5cti Winch.

But I only have a 2 channel radio..

Oh ok then disregard my setup. You need a 3 channel radio for the one I have.
