Bully 2 kit landed yesterday

Well, my Bully 2 kit has landed! I started the assembly last night. Quality of everything in the box seems to be spot on. Only issue I had was on one of the pinion gears. The set screw was stuck and then wouldn’t set deep enough to hold it on the shaft. With some heat and persistence, that was worked out. I’m starting on the electronics now and then some paint.

BEC is the only part still on its way and it’s due here tomorrow. Pics to follow when she’s up and running.

Well, I was going to wait until the BEC got here and wired up before I tested it, BUT I was too close. So I rough ran the motor wiring and used the 3.5 mm plugs to connect to the esc. Grabbed my older Kyosho Tx/rx. Plugged everything up and my rx was dead. So I’m glad I tried and didn’t wait. I ordered a new flysky last night and it should be here Thursday.

I could rob anoth Tx/rx but patience is winning for now. I am going to go ahead and solder all my motor wiring in place and install the BEC when it comes in today.

Make sure you go through the gear boxes and loctite all the screws. The kit is famous for not doing that.

Good luck. It’s strong. Mine is old and still running.

Thanks for that @xxlostonexx. I read that a few times and I have it all done with loctite.

I gave it a little 20 minute run, got the epa’s set for the steering and a first pass adjustment on setting the drag brake. More for tomorrow. Still some tweaking I’m sure.

I ran a few batteries through it yesterday and as I was expecting, it is a beast! I made the decision to start without the dig and I do already wish I would have gone with it. Now I just need to decide between the dig switch or going with a mini dual esc
