Bully Gear Pins? And solid gears...

The other day when I was driving I lost power to my front wheels, after disassembling the axle case I found that I had sheared off the pin of the main gear. I'm a bit surprised by this design choice, at least for this gear, since it would see the most amount of torque, why it was not designed as a single solid gear.

Are there plans to make solid gears for the bully axles?

I've seen the replacement pins, and recommendations for piano wire, but would much rather see a solid gear solution.

I do know for a fact that RC4WD has made gears without pins for the 38:1 gears (I have a set an plan to install them in my front axle, where I keep breaking the pins), however, after a few emails exhcnaged with Rob (the RC4WD tech guy), I believe they are going to go with a design that uses a pin. I dont really like this choice...
