So I come from a musical background (composition), produce music, and am a certified audio engineer. I would like to add DJ'ing to the arsenal.
Ive been playing around with the free version of Virtual DJ for the last couple of days, watching tutorials, and doing a lot of reading. As with any software, without hardware integrated in youre prety limited.
Initially I thought it would be an easy transition with my background, but am finding out that while I can relate to a lot of the controls on a DJ mixer, I am somewhat dumbfouned as to the operation
.
Just as with recording/producing, Im sensing that it will be easier to learn with actual hardware vs strictly software.
What Im looking for here is advice on gear, tips, tricks, links, etc. Anything would be greatly appreciated.
TIA, Jon
