Can i charge my LiPo with NiMH charger?

Technically, yes. But there would be now way for the charger to know when it is charged or to ballance it. Both very important for lipo's. By doing this you would run a very high risk of setting a fire with your batteries and the house they are being charged in. When Lipo's go they are literally like a flame thrower.

So basically, "do not try this at home" or anywhere else for that matter. Just pick up a charger that will fit into your budget. They can be had pretty cheap these days as Lipos have been out for a while.

Can i charge a LiPo battery with my NiMH charger?

this might help:

They require a special charger specifically designed to charge lithium cells. In general any charger that can charge lithium ion can charge lithium polymer, assuming that the cell count is correct. You must NEVER charge lithium cells with a NiCad or NiMH only battery charger. This is dangerous. Charging cells is the most hazardous part of using lithium batteries. EXTREME care must be taken when charging them. It is important to set your charger to the correct voltage or cell count. Failure to do this can cause the battery to spew violent flames. There have been many fires directly caused by lithium batteries. PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE when charging lithium batteries.

I plan on buying a Thunder AC6 charger.

Just wanted to make sure before i plugged my new LiPo in.

One more question. My redcat has a different battery connection than my LiPo battery.
Can i just splice the right connection into the LiPo?

Yes, just make sure you don't cut the pos/neg wires at the same time (just a reminder, I know I've forgotten once or twice).

I swapped to deans ultra plugs on my batteries. females on the batteries and a male on the charger & truck. I like them alot.

Hypotheically, yes you can. i charged my lipo in the NIMH setting because i accidently over discharged it to 2.98V per cell, and the charger doesnt accept anything under 3.0v per cell.. i bumped the cells back up to 3.0v and just put it back to normal lipo mode. lipo still works today, just got to keep an eye on it.

For safety reasons, No.

For just wanting to blow up a lipo. GO RIGHT ON!! "thumbsup"

If you need a lipo charger, I think the AC6 at xheli is a pretty good deal. The same design is sold in multiple cases/colors. I've seen them range from $45 to 200!
