Castle Link Card and Sidewinder 4

When I connect the sidewinder 4 to the castle link card directly (with just the battery) or with the USB, I get the blinky pattern indicating an out of date firmware. My computer sees that I plugged in a USB device, but the Castle Link software doesn't see it. Any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this?

Reload the software and update it . Then use the card
The SW4 has the new “hydro”
I can’t imagine it won’t work, although Castle did just release a new version of the link, nice case

Hang up and Drive

What version of Castle Link do you have installed? You need to have at least 3.74.00 installed for the Sidewinder 4 to work. When you plug the Field Link card into castle Link, it should update the firmware on the card to allow it to link with the Sidewinder 4.

We just tested it and had no issues with it after we updated the computer we were testing on.

I uninstalled then reinstalled castle link 3.76.00 and nothing. I can't find a download link for 3.74.00 so I could try it. Maybe I got a bunk card?
Edit: Well the third time is a charm. I uninstalled, and then reinstalled again- this time with the field link card plugged into the USB and not the car. The other times I installed the software then plugged everything in with no success. Now it works. I never read anywhere that I needed to have the card plugged in during software installation, but apparently this is what needed to happen. All of the other times I installed 3.76 with nothing plugged in and then it wouldn't recognize the card. Maybe this is something that needs to be addressed, maybe it's just me?

Connect programing card to PC
Connect SW4 to programing card

The software will probably ask to update teh programing card

I got it figured out after 3 attempts, but this method did not work.
This is what worked.
1. Plug card into USB.
2. Install software.
3. Get immediate update.

Maybe the devs should add a button that hunts for the card if the software has been installed first? It's an easy enough mistake to make and I've owned many devices that are detected after software installation. With this I was totally locked out, all I had was "Demo Mode". Either way thanks for the help.
