Castle Link Quick Connect? Or simple y-adapter?

Sorry, dumb question. I'm runnjng Castle's MM2/2200kv setup in my YXL and would like a connector external to the electronics box so I can easily hook up a Castle Link. I'm also running a CC BEC for my servo, with the red wire from my ESC disconnected at the Rx.

Can I just make/buy a simple y-adapter or do I need Castle's Quick Connect?

I just got a 3" extension wire, and snipped the red wire . And let it hang out of my Rx box so I can easily hook up my CL without having to undo any screws or open anything.'


EDIT : yeah , snipping is for when you are running a BEC too, I'm so used to that being a step I just included it here thoughtlessly.

The 3 inch extension is great but you also need the 'link'

Thanks for the responses so far, but they almost seem to oppose one another.

Capwn, with the red wire gone from your extension, do you need your main LiPos plugged in and your ESC switched-on since the castle link can't power the ESC without the red wire?

rippinex, are you referring to the Castle Link Programmer (which I already have), or the Quick Connect (which is what my original question is about)

All you need is a 3" servo extension. Not sure why he said to cut the red wire.

So you would run the wire from the ESC into a 3" servo extension wire that resides outside the receiver box. Then you can unplug/replug it as needed without getting into the box?

I said to cut it because NORMALLY everyone has a BEC wired up. I forgot that wasn't what he was asking. So if you were going to run a BEC, then you would snip... I'm kinda dopey sometimes.
