What happens when you charge 2S 7400 mAh LIPO battery with a charger that maxes out at 6 amps?

I assume the charger charges 6000 mAh, reaching 8.4 volts at that time, and ends.

Doesn't appear that I can do another 'charge cycle' on my charger because it stops like 5 or less minutes after I attempt another charge cycle, and it never reads input of like 0.5 amps and falls to 0.0 in that 5 or less minutes.

So how do you (or can you) get that extra 1400 mAh into the battery?

Oh - I'm using a iMax B6AC v2 charger.

It will still reach 7400mah capacity. The 6 amps is just the rate youre charging. It shouldnt be cutting you off at 6000mah. Does it show the mah charged on the imax? How long does it take to charge usually?

Check if you have the capacity set to 6000 on your charger. It should charge 7400 no problem.

LiPo chargers don't deposit a fixed quantity of milliamps, they read cell voltage and stop when the cells reach 4.20.

The only negative effect of using a 6amp charge rate on a 7400mAh battery would be that it takes a little extra time to charge.

If your charger is cutting off at 6000mAh, I'd bet that your capacity is set to 6000. You can find the capacity setting on the lower levels of the menus.

I had not dived into the submenu enough yet to check the actual battery amperage after a charge - I'll do that. Thanks for the info! "thumbsup"

OK - couldn't find a way to use charger functions to see current mAh on fully charged battery, but all seems fine it does last longer than my 5200 mAh battery. Thanks again!
