Cherokee XJ Hardbody Class 1 Build

Back to it.

I designed and printed the rear speaker bar/dome light for the interior.

Turned out pretty good. It houses two 20mm speakers and a 3mm led light.

The speakers and led are all wired up and work great. It's crazy how it actually sounds like stereo quality sound. Too bad all the windows will be closed and I won't hear it from inside.

Next I'm going to figure out how to do the license plate light. It would definitely be missing if I didn't add it.

I've figured out how to add a license plate light.

I used some 2mm fiber optic that leads to a 3mm led. I'm going to start using fiber optic more.. it's a great solution for tight spaces.

I'm still at it. In the process of moving/home construction and it's taking all my time.

The rig is essentially finished.. just some carpeting and some final details: wipers, detail paint.

That's all the interior panels mounted and wired, all the windows glued in place. It weighs a lot.

Having trouble figuring out how to carpet the interior.. so many angles and corners.

I've also painted all the light lenses... the rear brake/signal lenses were actually really tricky. I taped them off and sprayed them, making sure to get the black border in and keep the reverse light area clear.

I dont have pictures yet, but all the lenses are glued in place and all the lights work. Front/rear directionals, reverse, park and brake.

Edit: Since the photo bucket disaster... this thread is no longer useful. It breaks my heart, because I spent so much time on it.

fyi there is a fix for the debackle... if you use chrome and the extension...

Photobucket Hotlink Fix
Extension to fix the hotlinking issue in Photobucket, It's not needed to pay with this extension, the images will continue loading.

Great design work on those prints!

That could make you a money on Shapeways if you ever decide to go that route...

What do you use to run your lights.

For this rig, just a simple led controller. I think it was $30 on ebay.

But I always recommend heyok light controllers. I've used his stuff in other rigs and its excellent.

This is great news! I have other threads to revive.

Thanks a ton for the info!!!

Awesome work, love all the detail. Whats the headliner made out of?

Headliner is a vinyl backed material I found in a craft store.

It looks the part for sure.

I need to figure out how to do multiple quotes in one post..

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I was worried this thread was too long abandoned.

I do have a shapeways store, but I haven't put my designs in yet. Soon!

If you're on a PC then there's a Multi-quote button right next to the Quote button.
