Christmas 2020

Sorry to hear that bjoe. We lost my grandpa 2 yrs ago in april, n my step grandma this past summer. Been a bit rough our way too. Plus my wife gets really broke down this time of yr too. Her granny passed away back in 2011, the 8th was 9 yrs. She was takin care of her wen she passed. Not easy around the holidays with loved ones missin thats for sure

Thanks, I appreciate it! This has been a crazy year, probably a good thing Dad and I are introverts since we haven’t really gone anywhere or done much other than shopped when needed and Dad has sat my Niece when my Sister, BiL, and his Mom are all working......which isn’t really happening as much right now, obviously. His Sister and other BiL aren’t overly thrilled since they were quarantining so they could come back and do so safely only to catch it here.....

Well, this is good news and I’ll take it as a gift right now. My Niece’s Covid test came back negative! Once my Sister and especially BiL are in the clear, we can finally have Christmas. Dad did joke last night that if we get together late enough, we can celebrate his birthday next month at the same time:ror:

That's great. And I'd absolutely take that as a true gift this year as well. My best bud tested positive at the end of November but had only mild symptoms. Unfortunately my wife found out yesterday that her aunt and uncle both tested positive last week. So far, her aunt has been fine aside from mild symptoms but her uncle is not faring so well. Looks like he may be headed for hospitalization.. not sure yet. Really stressful on my wife atm since she works with the public 48-50 hrs a week.

I hope things go ok for her Uncle, this is nothing to fool around with, a coworker in his late 20’s was hospitalized with it in March and April, sounds like he’s lucky to be alive.

Indeed. I'll be interested to see what happens of the course of the next few days. I'm not close with either of them but it's becoming a bit unsettling seeing firsthand so many cases popping up around us and in our families. Thanks, Joe.

I hear you there, I’ve talked to a number of customers on the phone for work that have had it, have family that have had it and not always survived, and doctors and nurses who were practically at wits end. I even talked to one customer who’s wife managed this part for there local hospital and he had guys that outfit new houses working in pairs so that if one got sick, they only had one other guy go off for quarantine and not the whole crew and told them to walk off the job if somebody else’s crew wasn’t masking up and not go back until that crew was done or masked up. We’ve had issues where I am due to a place several blocks north of here that makes electrolyte drinks and a meat packing plant that’s the next town and county over that employs a lot of our residents that have caused issues.

Ugh... That's tough. My wife and I figured all along that it was going to get like this but it still has been hard to digest. Especially my wife as she's in such close contact with people ( including her fellow employees) who still just refuse to mask up. Makes me angry knowing that here in central Texas, many health-care workers are overwhelmed and small businesses are having to continue layoffs and closures yet it's just too inconvenient for some people to do something as simple as wearing a mask. The Lone Star State always brags about how much Texan's care about family and neighbors and the fact is that many Texan's really just don't... or are simply ignorant I guess.

Hope that you and your family remain well, brother.

Well, I got this from my Sister today, apparently it was on back order when she ordered it and just now arrived, I’ll wait until we can all get together to open it though.

I'd like your sister to adopt me. That's a sweet Christmas care package right there.

We each got $200 from Dad, but the gifts were from my Sister, I had been expecting the Charger to be more expensive, TBH!

My niece made out well though, had a bunch of gifts Dad and I bought her, plus a couple that they bought and put our names as well as a few with Mom’s.
