I'm torn between a real Christmas tree this year or staying with a fake tree. My wife wants real. Me being a Fireman if always been against them. With this said I may try one, what do you guys and gals normally do. Allergies are issues with a live tree inside I'm sure.

This will be the first year we'll have a tree. We bought a fake 4' tall pre lit pink tree last year on post Christmas clearance. :D

Make sure it has plenty of water and you should be good. My wife always wants a real tree (we have mountain property, so she gets one). As far as allergies, we both have really bad hay fever and havent had any issues with a real tree in the house. You will know if you walk onto to tree lot (or where ever you get your tree) if you start sneezing your head off, get a fake tree.

When we did real tree's I dropped it into the pool for a day or so before we put it up. In the winter the Chlorine is low and the pool was the best place to submerge it. They always made it to New Years without drying out to bad. I liked the smell, hated the mess. We bought a $400 tree after Christmas a few years back for 75% off. Take it out of the box, plug in the lights and go. 0 to decorated in an hour.

Real tree.. I love the smell. Being able to wake up in the morning and smelling that fresh pine smell.. "thumbsup" Plus, if you have kids, their reaction is priceless when they see a freshly decorated tree lit up at night.

Usually do real trees. We cut them out in the woods so they last just fine. We also dont put one up until mid december usually and its down on jan 1st. I may get a live potted tree and plant it on my property after xmas this year

I just bought some Christmas Trees.

Here's my take on the whole deal.... People celebrate the birth of their savior by killing a living thing and parading it inside of their house? I say get a live tree, decorate it, then plant it in your back yard when the festivities are all over with. "thumbsup"

Dam right each year you hear less and less about Thanxgiving:cry:

Our local Ace Hardware had Christmas stuff up before Halloween

I've always been against real trees because they used to all get dumped in landfills. Now there are so many places that turn them into mulch, that it's not a valid argument. That being said though, I haven't had a tree in about 20 years.
