Some equations that might help. KE = ½ m(velocity)^2 Kinetic Energy, mass needs to be in kg and velocity in meters/sec.

(Wave Length) = h / (mass) (velocity). h = 6.63 x 10^-34 J sec

c = (Wavelength)(v) c = speed of light 3.00x10^8 v= nu or frequency

E = hv v= nu or frequency

Large Wave Length = Low Energy. Small wave Length = High Energy.

Maybe these will help with the transportation of shit over light project.

As for water. Hydrogen is approx 1g per mole and O is approx 16g per mole. To transfer 1 mole of H^2O you need enough energy to push 18g across your desired distance. And here is the equation for effusion = Square root (3RT/Molar Mass) T= Temp in Kelvins. R= 0.08206 L.atm / mole.

Yep, and for those of you reading there is a difference here between Kinetic Energy and Particle/Wave Energy....that difference is what I was talking about earlier....one applies in classical mechanics, the other in quantum mechanics.
 
1mole of a substance is 6.022x10^23 molecules.

So try 1mole O = 16g/6.022x10^23
and try 1 mole H = 1g/6.022x10^23

I might be incorrect, its been a while.
 
Yeah, I believe rnpick is right. It has been a while since I took chemsitry, but here goes:
Assuming one gallon of water.
Molar mass of water = 18g/mole
Weight of water = density*volume = 1g/mL*3.8L = 3800g
Therefore, there are [3800g/(18g/Mole)]*6.023x10^23 molecules/Mole = 1.3x10^26 Molecules in one gallon of water or 3.8*10^26 atoms in one gallon of water.

Which means that there are 2.5 *10^26 Hydrogen atoms and 1.3*10^26 Oxygen atoms in one gallon of water.

Edit...I forgot to multiply by the number of atoms in the water molecule....numbers are fixed now.

Light travels at 11,000,000 miles per minute. eleven million miles per minute !

We have estimated trillion stars in our galaxy.

The nearest star Alpha Centuri is 4 light years away or 26 Trillion miles

thats just our galaxy.

there is estimated 500,000,000,000 to one trillion galaxies .... each galaxy with billions and trillions of stars...

now take the 1lb bag and throw it at you from a potato gun...the added speed, motion is enough to make you move.

You're talking about force, which is a function of mass and change of velocity (F=ma). But I think you kinda missed Duuuuuuuude's point... with your same concrete sack example, if hurl that bag o crete at him with any kind of force, and miss him completely, he won't move at all.
