xmaxxboyx: yea thats 2 pieces of fuel tubing, for when I take the brace off it stays 1 piece, I got bored, lol. and yea those are the right ones...

Awsome heres and idea ! Go to the hardware store and buy some L brackets and a small piece of plexie glass mount the l brackets where u have the ball joints and cut a piece of plexie and screw it to the l braxkets for you radio tray. And try to leave the tirods there to stiffen the chassis

maxxcrawler: Yea that was my plan for my radio tray, and the entire perpose of the tie-rods was the keep the chassis from flexing, lol.

i ran that chassis for over a year. works good. but my new chassis is rc solutions shock towers for the savage, lower cg.

johnrobholmes: 60 bucks??? how much do they retail for? there only 15.99 at our LHS (cost me like 9.50 cause I work there).

Isnt the r/c solutions towers allum.?And Jake,did you have to cut,drill,dremel anything or it was all there?I have a really old clod,and I wanna fix it up...

Yea a few brands make aluminum but we had the graphite in stock, plus I wanted light wieght and cheap, lol. the only holes I had to drill was the 1 hole per plate, the center bottom hole were the chassis support is. and if you look at the second pic I have marked were Im gonna dremel the chassis for a stock pack.

Wow cool method using the shock towers. I have a few of those at the LHS I work at, may have to build another Clod. Used to have one a long time ago but Im gaining interest now again thanks in part to your inventive chassis. Great work!

Hey, guys, thanks for the kind words, havn't had much time to work on her latley, and Im test fitting the axles on a Tuber i biult a while back also, I'll post some pics hopfully soon...

Update 8/10/05
Finally I got a day off that I have nothing planed to do!!! wierd huh?
Anyway, got the Lathe motors mounted with 13 tooth traxxas pinions for now, biult the Wire Harness out of 14 guage Novak "superflex" wire, got it all soldered on, got the front and rear steering done with a Hobbico CS-70 front servo and a Traxxas 2018 rear for now, and a Traxxas TQ3 radio that Im gonna modify for the rear steering. also I found out that GS Racing 5.8mm ballstuds fit Traxxas rodends, so Im gonna replace the top (already done the bottum) so I can get the axles off the truck easily if I need to fix something...
anyway here are some pics...
