Club 5 racing.

I ordered one and installed it. it REALLY stiffens up the front of the chassis. with this and the rest of the hard parts my front has no flex any more and I am using a 650 oz/in servo
 
I ordered one of the roof racks with lights. I'll post my opinion once it arrives. It looks good at first glance though!!
 
So far, I’m not happy. The shipping is the slowest option from USPS, and the first shipment arrived with the wrong roof rack being shipped. It took three days for them to respond, with them asking me to ship it back and forward them the amount of shipping for them to refund me (which happened very quickly). The replacement correct roof rack is still yet to arrive (the label was created on the 10th, it’ll be a week tomorrow) and hopefully will arrive tomorrow. I also bought a set of the light pods and lost both waffle covers on the first trip out. Though some of the items appear to be well made, I’m hesitant to re-order.
 
So to add to the saga, the roof rack finally arrived. Like someone else noted, the printing was decent (one side of mine was wavy) but I dealt with it. I mounted mine without any problems. Looked good but didn't wire or mount the four lights. Took my daughter out to one of our crawling spots with her Barrage. Literally the first time I rolled my truck I broke the back corner off. Not even a hard roll, but destroyed it!

If you are more into static scale, it's not a bad piece. If you get out onto the rocks it'll turn into scrap.
 
They use PLA not ABS or PETG on the printed parts, so you will have issues. I have two rear magnet mounts for the VS4 from them, Poor design, too tall, screws not captured, magnets fall off.

Pass. They are nice folks, always replied quickly to me. I just don't care for lack of quality.

My Knights parts are noticeably better.

This appears to be aluminum not 3D printed. Or am I looking at the wrong part?
 
The Club 5 Racing metal parts appear very nice. So far I have their diff plates, center skid plate and their rear shock tower brace. High quality and perfect fit.
 
Depending on how infill was done and also if it is normal PLA or PLA Pro/PLA+, PLA can be way stronger than ABS and PETG.

Can be, but isn’t. Quite brittle, PLA has a low heat tolerance without extra steps, should not be used for RC. I test print in PLA, then final in PETG. Strength isn’t the need here, give and resilience is. My Knights cage for my VS4 is past strong.

Ok, I personally have other experiences, but that is ok . I stick to PLA. if it can survive the Recon G6 and a load of other trials and get a lot of beating. It is good for me. Tried PETG, way too brittle for me. It breaks very easy.

But there is a large difference between cheap consumer PLA (same for ABS and PETG) and the more professional PLA in quality. Knight Custums stuff is Shapeways, which is whole different comparison as in another print proces with 10K - 100K printers compared to the average 150-1000 dollar printers out there.

As for Club5 Racing. They use PLA and SLA according to their website. I have had parts from them in PLA and they took a beating. No problems with them not beeing though. I have had Shapeways parts breaking very easy.

In the end there are so many variabels. Even the best filament and printer cannot compensate for a bad design.

I'll admit that when I'm crawling I tend to push the boundary. It could be relatively durable part, but I rolled onto the roof and it snapped. Even my 8 year old daughter said that I broke pretty easily. I still feel it looks the part on the truck body, but I'll either make one out of metal or look into buying a metal version. I'm about 50/50 in terms of scale to comp, I want to look good and be capable. If the extra weight up that high causes me to have more rollovers, I'll just skip the idea of a roof cage.

I'll take PETG every day over PLA for final prints. PLA is good for prototyping and for desk trinkets and that's about it.

What PETG brand are you using? I might give that a try.
I use BASF Innofil3D PRO1 Tough PLA and have very good results with them.

Tried different brands of PETG, but had problems with breaking very easy. I print on a Original Prusa i3 MK2S.
