Just getting ready to buy a new game tomorrow. I've played the hell out of MW2 and I'm considering getting Black Ops, But I've heard it kinda sucks compared to MW2. I've also been checking out Medal of Honor. I like how its set in the present day wartime and the realistic areas in Afghanistan.

Anybody have any experience with either or both??

I have both, Medal of honor is made by dice, the same people that make the battlefield franchise. I don't like it as much as Battlefield bad company 2. As far as Black ops vs Medal of honor, they feel very similiar. Don't care for the Black ops online play........Too much run and gun. No, and I mean no sniping. Might be your cup of tea though. Haven't played the medal of honor online yet. Beat black ops in campaign, haven't beat medal of honor yet.

I have both and for more realism I would say go with Medal of Honor. In multiplayer Black Ops is more arcade run and gun like where Medal of Honor is a bit more tactical. Personally I like the added difficulty in Medal of Honor to get new weapons and level ups. COD Black Ops is like MW2 where you level up quickly. I also believe the graphics are superior on Medal of Honor. I play them both on the XBOX 360. Also, like the previous poster I like Battlefield 2 better than both of them.

is the control layout on both of the games similar?? I'm just so used to MW2 and the control layout that It takes me a bit to change.

I got a little burned out on MW2.... I play mostly online, and I'm not that great of a player but I'm not horrible either. I'm normally in the top 3 or 4 of each of the games I play but I was just getting so sick of getting my ass handed to me by everyone at times..... Its like some of these people just sit there all day long playing this game getting more and more deadly.

I'm thinking about trying out MOH because of the realism and the graphics. I've always been drawn into games that have very realistic graphics and true to life storylines.

Maybe I just buy MOH and rent black ops for now.

I'm picking up my NEW PS3 tomorrow also. I sold my PS3 early this spring and have been itching to play again. I think i've been away from it long enough now. And the new games that are out got me all excited to tear it up again.

MoH is by far a better online game. CoD is like people have said a run around arcade. MoH you can actually snipe all day if you can find a spot they cant see you. Unlike CoD where you get to watch the shot that killed you, there for you know where the sniper is.

I play hardcore and there are always places to snipe if you know where to go "thumbsup"

Have both and like both. Black Ops has its teething problems right now with the whacked spawns, etc. But, Treyarch is working on them. I play hardcore TDM with a group of friends and there's no run and gun when we play. The other team tries it and it does nothing but get them killed..... a lot:mrgreen: Is Black Ops better than MW2? Not really. They're both about equal in my book. Black Ops reminds me of a re-skinned World at War, with it's sounds and "darker" graphics.
Like mentioned already, MOH multiplayer was made by the same outfit that did BFBC2. The multiplayer is OK, but nothing spectacular.
Whichever you choose, be it MOH or Black Ops, you'll be happy. If I had to choose one over the other, I'd go with Black Ops.... only because that's what my friends play"thumbsup"

Completed both in single player and played both online.

Single Player
MoH
Fantastic, really good story like and really drags you into the game.
Real pisser is it's just too damn short, 6 hours should see you completing it.
Yea ok it's got the levels after but that's just repeating stuff

CoD Black Op's,
Good game play, shooting is more difficult and less spongy than MoH so a head shot is more of a challenge.
Decent game length too, but the game does have bugs and there are some levels like in Nam that are downright frustrating as your not really sure what to do.

Multi player on-line personally i prefer MoH.
Good solid platform plenty of games to choose from at decent lag times.

Out of the 2 it's a tough call.
If your more interested in single player although MoH is better it's just to short for VFM, so out the 2 it'd be CoDBO.

Not as much as a "shoot em up" but more entertaining for longer is Fallout New Vegas, more a RPG than the other 2 but even though i have both the above i still keep coming back to New Vegas "thumbsup"

Cheers

i have been playing both.

MoH has the EXACT same controller layout as CoD does, so switching to back and forth between the 2 should not be too much of an issue with forgetting controls.

i finished MoH in campaign mode, and as said before, it is really good, just to short. i have yet to try online multi-player because i can't get the dumb EA account thing to work on my 360...

that right there is the only big drawback to MoH if you want to play online.

CoD, i have been playing online, but have yet to try the campaign mode. i really like how easy it is to connect online and get into matches with the CoD franchise, no having to make any kind of special accounts, just turn on your 360, sign in to your profile and go.

Well... I caved today and got both. Been playing MoH for an hour or so tonight and I'm really liking it. Haven't got a chance to play black ops yet.

MoH online play sucks IMO. I played it 3 times and sold it. Never played the campaign. I will stick with my BFBC2. Also don't like CoD multiplayer either, although a few of my clan mates have been enjoying it. AC Brotherhood multi is a change of pace.

Medal of Honor wasn't made by DICE. Medal of Honor was made by EA and the multiplayer was designed by DICE. I currently have both (Gamefly sent MOA and I pre-ordered COD BO) for the campaign I would say MOA is the better game. It's a bit more visceral and like others here have said it takes a bit more tactics to get through a level compared to COD. Now with DICE making the multiplayer side of things it plays a hell of a lot like Battlefield Bad Company 2 not that is a bad thing. But it has a bit more of a "steeper" learning curve IMO. It was a little frustrating to get sniped from every direction no matter how I exited a building. (and on a personal note...I very much appreciate the way that EA pays respect to the soldiers and their lives that they try to reproduce in a gripping story)

Now with COD Black Ops the multiplayer is more of a "pic up and play" kind of situation. It rewards you for doing well but that doesn't mean you can't just jump in and have fun (my girlfriend picked up the game and played a few rounds with a couple friends and I). Plus the multiplayer menu as well as the overall "experience" online is very user-friendly. Not to mention the customization menu has some serious "depth" to it. As for the campaign, it isn't as good as Modern Warfare 2...they tried to do something different this time around and it seems to "jump" around a bit more and doesn't seem to "flow" like the epic stories they usually tell should.

If it were my 60 bucks I would buy COD Black Ops, for the multiplayer experience (cause we all know that's what will keep you playing for the next few years). And then I would say rent MOH for the campaign (cause it's a freakin awesome story) and try the multiplayer out (or just buy a used copy of Battlefield BC2 and play that multiplayer for a stint for an idea how it plays for a lot cheaper than a new game...lol)

Cod black ops for me. When I want to play moh I go to my friends place and play multiplayer with him. But as said before. It gets frustrating when you leave a building (what ever way) you get picked off. I'm planning on picking it up for campaign but for online multiplayer, black ops (though I still stomp around on mw2)

We have both and I like Black ops better. Then again I am shoot em up kinda guy. I am on PS3 and username crashman666
