Commando Free Spool Winch System

Are you cool guys considering a complete winch kit combo? New winch and all of your new components?"thumbsup"

Yup.
Trying to determine the best way to set it up in the system to allow choices of winch line (we just have so many options there).

To show the difference between the two motors a spring scale for fishing might be a good way to go.
It would show where the motors stall out at. I looked for my old one and can't find it.
I have video of the difference in speed between the two motors just not the pulling power.

Here is something I did with my free spool end bolt.
I had a tough time getting my fat fingers in to properly grab it when the body was mounted.
This made it easier for me to release it."thumbsup"

Did the same thing with mine John, but I used a 7mm scale screw and a piece of wire insulation.

I like the scale bolt on the end, great idea, going to do that to mine right now!"thumbsup"

Thanks John! I just ran the screw in until it bottomed out. It left just enough sticking out to get my big fingers to grab and not look out of place."thumbsup"

Will this work with the Bulldog winch that rc4wd used to sell on thier website? I see now they only sell the warn winch, I have a couple of the Bulldog winches & would like to do this to them. Thank you.

The High Voltage Motor might but the free spool system will not.

OK, thank you wasn't sure, I will keep an eye on your website for the units forsale already converted with this option. I saw in a previous post you were going to sell them already converted at some point. Thank you for the reply this looks sweet!

I missed this thread? In process of getting my new Class 1 build list finished up. This is exactly what I need. Was gonna servo winch with my old 3R winch that cooked. Now I can just get this kit. Thanks!!

Same here, I had an old one that was fried too. But now I can breathe new life into it"thumbsup"

I am waiting on the Heyok winch controller I ordered and I am going to try one of the updated motors. I know they are much faster and have more strength than the stock 3racing motors. I am curious to see how they handle 3S of if I should put a BEC in there. "thumbsup"

Personally, I'd stick to a BEC for longevity but if you try 3S post up some video!
