Complete metal chassis for under $70

i ordered one my only concern was body panel fitting. plus like others have said if it breaks straighten, strengthen, and weld it back together

Asiatees/topcad does not have terrible products. They also have great customer service. There are folks from the US that work there. The term is called "buyers remorse". That's what happens when you pay 400.00 for something you find later for 67.00. I will guarantee that chassis is stronger than the plastic chassis. Each wraith chassis part is about 12.00. Add it up, that chassis isn't a bad buy. The stock plastic frame rail (the one that connects to the belly pan) is flimsy.

That being said, only reason to buy a 400.00 chassis is for the proprietary artistic and wicked design styles which is a much better argument than "the welds might not be as strong".

I'd rock the shiat out of that chassis. I can see a few things I'd change on it but overall it doesn't look too bad.

Is it as good as a $400+ custom built chassis? Nope, is it better than the stock piece of plastic? Fawk yea it is! Those that are whining that it isn't as good as a custom high dollar chassis are wasting their breath. This chassis isn't designed for you, so if you don't like it that's fine you aren't the target customer. ;-)

topcad makes parts for integy. a lot of ppl like to only pay top dollar by buying brand names parts and diss parts from china because its just as good and a better price. asiatees has great customer service you can ask them questions online , usually at night pacific time. I bought 2 of the aluminum parts upgrade kits and the parts are solid with good quality anodizing; deep color. my ax-10 has parts I got from ebay originating from china rc part vendors and none of the parts has failed me. hey if you got a good job with fat pockets, lucky you. I wish I could afford top dollar parts too but I cant because im a budget build crawler. so I have to search for the best bang for my buck.

as for the red chassis at one point I wanted it but I noticed the shock mounts cannot be adjusted and the bumper is not interchangeable. if it should break at the welds just find someone who can reweld it. the chassis looks solid enough to take normal rock crawling beatings. I needed to install a droop set up so the chassis wouldn't have worked for me. the powder coating looks good on the chassis.

No. Topcad/integy parts are NOT "just as good" as other name brand parts. I don't mind integy parts for what they are but they are not on the same level as VP or even STRC.

I have one and my friend has one as well. And to be honest, we are both quite happy with it, it is solid and it drives solid, I personally love it. I love that if i don't like something, I grind it out and weld something else where i need it!

here's mine after some extensive fun brazing.

the pinion spider/web will probably be replaced by roof lights next year.

However some basic things to note about the chassis:
You'd better be comfortable with a blowtorch because you will not be running it out of the box

Flip the shock mounts to lower the center of gravity
The body is not made to go on this thing
the hood is at least 1/4" too wide
the side panels feel like they too are about 3/8" too long
there are no body mounts, welded some mounts onto it to mount it
the hood mount is too high by about 1/4"
Had to rearrange my front bumper mounts because the chassis was hitting the steering servo.
Reinforced some of the initial welding as I found some of them to be a bit lacking.

If you plan on running it without a body, then that is definitely your advantage, cause fitting the body was the biggest pain in the ass of this chassis.

If you want a light truck, this is not for you. I have alot of metal on mine that was added, and it weighs in at around 8-9 pounds with battery, my friend's truck is around 11 pounds but it's a beast.

Would I buy another one in the future? without hesitation

feel free to PM me if ya have any questions.
