Cosworth escort

One of the most highly under rated Ford products ever. And I am by no means a Ford guy.

I just searched this Mercur XR4TI and saw it is the car called sierra in this side of the lake. Really good car, made a legend in races, this darn texaco sierra was running 2.2 bar continuous with 2.8 bar overboost:shock::shock::shock:. It was alleged to be over 550bhp in race use. Anyway this is the same engine with a heavier and longer chassis, not the best thing for tight technical courses. Far slower than the MK5 with the same engine.

Why not just try and find a Merkur XR4Ti?

Lame car!

Sick car.

Lame car.

all you want it to do is look like it?
that kinda lame..

Totally lame. :ror:

The only thing those Merkurs got going for them is all those Touring Car wins. They got lucky no one else could bring it at that time. :ror:

Ever see the Getaway From Stockholm video with the Supra and Escort? Oh that was good.

It will make it look better, much better! I had a huge crush on the Escort Cossie as a young fella, I shed a tear when they discontinued it.

I agree though, don't just do the exterior. Either go for the full treatment or if you can't afford it all in one go, drive it around as a sleeper for a bit.

Re-united and it feels so good.

Well I am a huge fan of this car and I really really really want one, only problem is that it is nearly impossible. So the next best thing would be to build one. I can easily get an mk5 ford escort around here in the $250-$2500 range so it shouldn't be too expensive to start. Now comes the problem of the body kit. Thus far the only cosworth body kits I have found are in the UK, and they don't ship to the US. So I was wondering if you guys had any ideas. I also noticed that the Cosworth north America center in Torrence is looking for cnc programmers, which is what im going to school for atm:twisted:.
Here is the link to the body kit, its about half way down the page.

Just thought I would let you know that this company here is in the UK, and they do ship to the US. They have each and every part ever made for the cossie

Yea that was a sick car for sure, too bad it was stuck with the Escort name, people over here hear that and think the little econo buckets... These little cars would eat a Corvette for breakfast.

I just re-read their shipping stuff and they do, looks like I got the body kit problem solved, now to see if I can find a sierra or an xr4ti.
