Couple of questions

I just had a chance to get my Futaba 4PLS TX and RX installed and semi-working. I've also just installed a ROC412 3100, Supershafty bomb proof trans, HD gears and some other odds and ends. I'm getting steering, and throttle in forward all the time. Throttle in reverse only works when it wants to. It does work sometimes, but only every third time, or sometimes if I just keep the trigger pushed and wait for it. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Also, this trans is LOUD. Is it supposed to be? My first experience with one of these. I know there's a lot more metal in there than the stocker, but I just wanted to make sure it's normal.

Thanks in advance to the brain trust for yall's knowledge!

What esc are you running? have you tried to recalibrate the radio to the esc? Also check your neutral width setting, it may be too small for the esc to see it.

Well now I don't have any throttle at all, but steering is great. MMP gives me the chime at first and the corresponding lights light up for forward and reverse, but I get no movement. Then, after a few minutes it chimes again, starts beeping and no throttle lights. I assume I need to do something to the MMP. No idea what, though?

I have reversed the ESC plug at the Rx, too, eliminating that as the problem.

The futaba radio can be set with a real small neutral width that some escs have an issue with. the esc never sees the radio go to neutral and ignores the input. The steering servo has no direct connection with the esc so it is not affected. I would change the width setting on the radio and calibrate the esc again.
