I installed the carbon steel prop shafts to my CR-01 thinking it'd be the most reliable option. Well, one of them is fine but the other lasted 45 minutes before it lost one of its cross joints.

Does anyone know if cross joint assembly part number 53500 is compatible? I didn't want to fork out another £30 for a full complete shaft when there's nothing wrong with it.

I lost the little pin - the grub screw must have come loose even though it was thread locked. Once the pin was out it spat out the centre part with the grub screw as well. Was in a very leafy area of the woods so absolutely no chance of finding it :(

Those pins are a fairly common part. I lost that once and found out I had a few spares from other kits. After losing one, now I have a thin strip of black tape around the hub so the pin can't fall out if it ever gets loose

The shaft came out and I lost the cross joint too

That's a good idea. I'll put a blob of threadlock and tape over it. I just need to source the cross joint and grub screw.

Some shrink tubing works wonders. Those Tamiya upgrade prop shafts are tiny, and mine were very sticky after a while. Lots of better options out there.
