currie front axle problams

I've looked in the search section on here to try and find a solution but couldn't find any thing. so need help finding a solution on the short side axle shaft on the front steering axle. not wanting to bite into the Vp locker. the other side works great, it's long enough for the set screw to set it in the locker.

parts I used
axial harden steel gears
currie axle front
Vp locker
Vp axle shafts


one of the vp shafts is shorter for some reason, anyone know why.


another thing I was thinking was to add to the shaft to make it longer. wondering if someone has done it, and if it worked
