I'm not looking for patterns, but rather advice on what tools to use. Exacto knife? Dremel with cutting bit? Jeweler's saw?

Thanks!

Chris

if your doing a star pattern a sharp razor blade. if your cutting a funnel then maybe a band saw or a dremel with a large bit on it. depends on what your going to be cutting.

I use a "Ginsu" knife, the type like they advertise very late at nite on TV. It seems to work the best for me. It's almost like a saw blade. BE CAREFUL...this dude will eat right through flesh too.

The hobby knife took too long and the scissors made it difficult to get a straight cut due to them folding the foam slightly. So I used an electric bread knife. What with bread being mostly sliced at the factory these days, I figured I might as well get some use out of the thing. :)

For star cuts or narrowing I use a wide scraper razor blade. Its about 4 inches long and can cut the width of a foam straight across. Who the hell buys a bread knife? It does sound like a good foam knife.

I use those snap off extendable type hobby knifes, I just slide the blade all the way out and saw back and forth with it ( kinda like the ginsu or electric knife)
