The servo is just the cheap ecopower 110t, nothing fancy but it is more servo than the stocker and it’s waterproof, giving it a go.

Motor/esc may be next. Will be a HW1080, but for the motor is a 540 or 550 can the way to go?

Stock servo is meh underpowered but not as bad as some RTR servos. I'm done with cheap servo hotness, DS3218 or whatever it's called started getting gear slop after one or two TF2 crawls, not worth it imo. These tires are small and not that much strain on them lol. Just pay up and buy a good servo to last, you'll be better off in the long run.

HW WP1080 is in all my crawlers and works great with included program card!

The Marlin is by far the best TF2 available. Its the best way to do tiny tires IMO. I got first in the comp series with mine last year and aside from electronics, a winch, and some scale goodies, it is stock. My springs look like Ws now but its still my go to rig.

540 is fine.

Yep, stock 540 with water break-in has been great on 3s in mine. 550 would be fun, but then my springs would probably look like S, would need traction bars imo.

Speaking of these tiny tires, the berserkers and rc4wd 1.55s showed up. I’m pretty happy with these but I don’t like having to remove the 6 tiny lugs to get to the hex.

Love the 1.55 Berserkers! Different wheels or drill out centers and run faux locking hubs?

Awesome thanks for the all the info on and the driveshaft rec, definitely looks like the way to go.

More to come on the wheels, I’m not completely sold on them yet but going to look into a way to change the center hub like you recommended. One small victory, I did find the tool that came in the package, for the small hexes. It must have been tossed aside when I opened these wheels :ror:

Got the marlin out again this Sunday at valley of fire. Had a blast and love driving this little truck.

Added a Hobbywing 1080 and trailmaster 21t and it ran smooth and strong all day. Need a bit more wheel speed so might jump up a couple teeth in the pinion.

The 1.55 berserkers performed well too, the rock out there was grippy so not a big challenge but I have no complaints.

Driveshafts next and that’s about it. "thumbsup"

RC4WD's Punisher shafts have been good for me, but not sure about the length since you have the fancy shackles...I know you could do a little grinding on the end of the pinion and fit Axial's Wildboar HDs on the original Yota axles but I have not tried it on the Yota IIs. Those hold up great and you can do completely custom length easily.

Thanks B! The servo gave me no issues but I may end up putting in something with a bit more torque down the road. Going from the 10.2 with a sh500v2 to this was a pretty clear difference in steering power. For 2.5x the price there better be though.

Traxxas TRX-4 driveshafts working good in mine, just had to trim ends of pinions and transfer case shafts.

I’ve wanted a Trailfinder 2 for a bit after seeing a few locals run their TF2s, and admiring the scale driving and leaf spring suspension, I bit the bullet and started a search.

Enter this heck of a build. I think it’s been through a couple of owners here and those previous owners have done a great job. I don’t plan on changing much here other than servo, wheels, and tires. Not sure if a build thread existed before for it.

Details from the previous owner are below:

Z boxes on the front and rear, revolver shackles on the rear.
Rc4wd complete tf2 interior
Led headlights and taillights.
Chino mod
Rc4wd warn 9.5 tci winch with wireless controller
Gelande shock hoops in the front
100mm Rc4wd bilstein front shocks.
Rc4wd ultimate scale 90 mm rear shocks

This is my first true tiny tire truck and I’m on the hunt for wheels and tires. Feel free to throw out any suggestions. Currently the 1.55 berserker is the front runner. Maybe the 4.19 km3s but I’d like to run a 1.55 or 1.7 wheel and tire.

Man those Zerkers look awesome on that rig! I've got a Marlin, as well, and am looking forward to my next TF2 build which will be a LWB. I used to run 4.19s on mine but I got sick of playing with offsets and sacrificing steering angle. Went with 1.55 Irok NDs and love every second I run this thing!
