Decasing FXrs

Hi all,

I have spent more than an hour trying to find an "how to" decasing FXrs.

I am quite ignorant in electronics, and I just received my new chassis (Chaotic Switch XR10) and I can't fit my FXrs on the plate.

Any pointers to help me would be more than appreciated!

(I bought a good iron, I have Flux etc...).

Thanks in advance!

Unscrew four screws on the bottom and pull it apart.

Thanks, I got rid of the switch already, just trying to figure out how to properly package them/solder etc... I don't have large enough shrink wrap an liquid wrap is utterly expensive in here (don't know why though).

I got some tips on how to fit the FXrs, I'll try that first, then will dig the decasing if all fails...

Here's my latest decasing job, I removed the post as well. Gave both FXR's a huge bath of conformal coating a few times and am calling it good. I decided to not heat shrink this time around so any heat can exit as well as any Possible moisture.

I don't get why people remove the posts? That is literally the only heat sink these things have. That is also why the majority of super smash's lead to failed FXR's.

Just sharing my own thoughts.

The key is having an efficient setup. A light rig with efficient motors and no 4s heat is not an issue.

I ran the setup below for over a year without issues and it only had two posts. What I didn't like about that setup was trying to program the ESC's.

My current setup gets warm, but nothing I'm scared about. During my on-road days I've had these tekins to hot to touch and they still worked

what capacitor you are using for combined two FXRs? Any link or spec? And if not too much trouble can you take photo of the other side I want to see how two posts solder together.

I have nothing in my switch skid. Everything is mounted on a rr tray. Been running it like RCBRO since the switch came out and have not had any issues running the same cap on 3s!!!
