hey everyone.i have a 1/8 new bright avalanche with 2.2 mudslingers that I'm going to be putting a Dewalt 14.4 in with the summit transmission.what battery would be best.ill be getting a 4s5000mah or bigger but i don't know what c rating ill need for this motor. 20c..30c..40c so on and so on i know i don't have a summit but i think the summits are the only one with the Dewalt motor.thanks in advance

thank you very much everyone.ill check into some 25-30c batteries.what kind of run time could be expected with that motor on a 5000mah anyone know?

The mah rating directly correlates with the C rating of the discharge. For instance a 4s5000mah20c pack can nominally put out 100amps at the rated voltage, whereas a 4s1000mah20 can only put out 20amps. Depending on esc, about 50amps on tap for that motor should be ok. Brushed motors don't draw much.

The amperage rating of a lipo pack doesn't affect motor life as a motor/esc draws amperage, the voltage can affect motor life if a motor is rated for a lower voltage than what is applied. Not applicable in this situation though...

after 2 hours of research i now understand everything you just explained.thanks again everyone for the help
