what is the diff between NICD and NIMH batts? is a 2400Mah NICD good to go with a TXT and a super rooster?

From Sanyo's website: http://www.sanyo.com/batteries/faq.cfm

Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) batteries offer high capacity (over twice the amount of Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) batteries), have quick charging capabilities and great reliability. They are especially good for high drain applications like digital cameras.

Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries have a longer cycle life, though shorter run-time than Ni-MH. They are the most cost-effective rechargeables and last up to 1,000 charges. They are hardy and can withstand very low temperatures and rough use. Like all rechargeables, they need to be completely charged before their first use.

You need a good charger for Ni-MH batts cuz they DO NOT like to be overcharged. 8O But either one works fine for what we do.

Just like JK (mudcow) said in that other post, 2400mAh NiCD's work great for crawling. If you want more run time use a 3000-3300mAh.

I've got quality 1400 mah NiCads from the early 90's that still work well.

I've heard if you drain a NiMh down too far it hurts the pack.

I used to direct short my old race NiCads when I stored them, never seemed to hurt them!

My point is I think NiCads are better for messing around crawlin cause they should last longer (years) BUT no question the new NiMh have longer run times and are faster in a racing environment.

I like 2400 NiCads.

I forgot to mention: I have some Dynamite 2000 mAh packs and get about 20-25 min out of them in my Clod. I also have a SMC 2400 matched cell pack and get about 40 minutes out of it. 8)

All my packs are NiCads and I have been using most of them for 3 years now. :D

I can vouch for Grizz's clod running for 40 minutes. Friggen thing seems to run forever. I use 2 packs before he's done with one.

I guess performance has it's price

Team Orion seems like good stuff. Been around forever.

Main thing is are they Sanyo Cells.
