Can someone tell me what the differnce is between the cherokee xj, zj, and wj? My friend and I are shopping for a lift kit for his 2000 limited. Would this be a wj?
thanks

FYI google is your friend.

Ya, it sure is, thanks! I'll check google, but if you beat me to it, what are the differences in suspension. What I mean, is will a zj, and wj have the same springs? I'm pretty sure the xj wont.

Thanks

xj is a leaf rear and coil front, zj is all coil as is the wj, check out rubiconexpress, they have it all set down by model and real easy to figure out wat you need.

I've owned all three. WJ and ZJ are both coil but they are not the same the coils will not work in one another. XJs are leafs in the rear and coil in the front. XJ and ZJ front coils are swappable. On my last XJ I was running 8"s of lift. In the front I was using ZJ coils. ZJ coils give an about extra 1.5" in an XJ. In others words if a Rubicon Express sells 5" ZJ coils, those same coils will result in 6.5" on an XJ.

I am running 33's on my XJ with the RE 4.5" kit and 1" spacer up front (RE kits tend to ride front low) and Bushwhacker flares. No rubbing, even with the swaybars disconnected.

I got some 35's for free that I'm going to try... ;-)

EDIT: Found two pics from an old thread.

What size tires will fit on the XJ with the 5.5" rubiconexpress lift?

Thanks

PS - I am looking to run 33's.

35s will fit easily with the 5.5" kit. I was running 37s at 6.5". ;-)
