Decided to finally grab the sparco h10 from my lhs. I’ve only picked it up, looked at the box every single time I go there, and with the influx of posts I see on fb about them. I figured why not. It’s always a good time to buy a new rig.

Plan is to keep a color scheme going on and add some touches here and there of those colors, whether it be axles or wheels or random parts.

First thing first- fresh out the box

You may see a new system for it right under it, that would be a 1800 fusion system. Grabbed it from the other lhs down the street from where the truck came from, they were just out of them.

Box hit counter, box came out and the tear down began. Swapped in the new fusion system and drove it around the house.

I think there was an easier way to get the trans out but this wasn’t bad plus it gave me a feel of the rig itself.

Hopped on Amain and grabbed some wheels, tires and an nsdrc servo, right away.

Also, ordered some custom vinyl wrap for it, as the regular ones didn’t catch my eye. Needed something different than everyone else’s. Found a gentleman who will design it and make it, so instead of slapping stickers on it and cutting them out, I feel like this is a way better option. Plus, it looks killer.

Went ahead and ordered the vanquish gear sets for the axles. Didn’t do enough research on the kit vs Rtr differences and noticed Rtr has cast gears. That’s disgusting.

Overdrive for the front stock for the rear but they’ll be machined!

Grabbed a new blue panel set so that way I don’t have to rip off the existing decals and have to clean the heck out of them for the new wrap.

So excited to start getting these parts in.

Question: would you get the h tech machined cage or the furitek cage? Machined is nice and so clean but I do love the look of the welded titanium cage.

The furitek cage looks like a solid option at $100. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it doesn't cost $100. The weldsand general fit up look terrible. If you need metal, I'd lean towards the htech, or possibly an rcspeedy chassis

Ha I wish it was a $100!

I have to say the cage by its self does look iffy. But I do like it when you see the rest of the drivetrain and panels attached to it. I’m leaning hard to the furitek one, mainly cause of seeing a buddy’s with it.

Nice start for the build ... The RTR came with some cost saving measures compared to the kit as always or at least for most companies ... As for the Cages no first hand experience but from readings and reviews here the furitek cage seems to come with some questionable quality welds and fitment. Seems like most H-tech reviews have far more favorable reviews.

Don't want to nitpick but the gears are sintered not cast. there's a big difference between the two. Sintered means that they were metal-injected molded and then sintered in a high temperature furnace. This produces a much stronger part than investment casting. Machined gears are the tops to be sure but the sintered ones ain't too bad. Much better than cast parts.

All good, I just read somewhere they were “cast” and I ran with that. I haven’t even opened up the axles to see myself. I like the idea of overdrive so getting new gear sets were a no brainer for me.

Parts are rolling in.

I cannot stand usps. Ground shipping, ordered Tuesday from rpphobby, arrived today.

Priority shipping from Amain hobbies, ordered Sunday, still sitting in our dispatch facility in the city. Still has to get to my local post office to deliver. I’m very impatient lol. But I’ll never understand how rpphobby delivers so quickly.

I told the Doc that it hurts when I put my hand over my head. He said, "Don't put your hand over your head."

Don't use USPS. They'll deliver when they get around to it. USPS put all these other delivery options into business with their slow and sloppy practices. When they finally woke up to what was going on it was too late.

I only use USPS when I don't care when it gets here.

Starting building the kit tonight and got as far as I can without the needed parts to complete it.

Need to buy a front axle, for rear steer

2- servos. Probably just use some nsdrc ones

System- really wanting to do the new Holmes that is coming out. For the time being I’ll probably just put a fusion pro in this one

Wheels and tires. Haven’t even started looking around for ones I want for it. My son says to get some that look like the fnf car had. That may be hard lol. I do think I’ll put a set of pitbulls on it. Either rock beasts or growlers.

It’ll run off my gt5 like all the other rigs.

I really like this livery though, pictures doesn’t do it justice.

Couldn’t tell you why I’m all giddy about these things. Probably one of my favorite rigs that has came out over the years. I’m about 15 years into crawling and the new stuff on these rigs just make it fun to build/ use.

Boredom struck and needed to wrench so I threw together the rear axle, even though I don’t need it. Just wanted it to be a roller for the time being. Have a lot of parts to get for it and it’ll be 2 weeks before everything comes in.

Gotta stick to the sparco build first as I’m gonna take it to a local indoor course/ swap meet at the end of the month.

Parts showed up.

These will go on the Rtr rig, I’ll be driving this one a lot more than the other. I should have ordered a bigger nsdrc servo, just didn’t want to run direct power. The wheels were a pick out of 2 that I liked. They should go better with the theme of the Rtr build.

Went with 4.75 mtrs from Rc4wd.

And these will go on the kit fnf build. Idk if I love them but needed a set of wheels to go on the rig while it’s built. Had to get other stuff at the lhs, figured these were my best choice, given what they had lol
