I spent the last days working on my 2.2 crawler rims. They are made out of 3mm delrin, the spacers are 6mm in diameter.

The total weight per rim is 20g, allthough they could be even lighter with other screws.

How do you like them? They feel pretty stiff, going to test them soon outdoors when I have the tires glued on!

I never owned carbon rims, how does the weight compare?

And finally, any suggestions for v2?

They look pretty cool to me."thumbsup"
I like white wheels.

I am curious how the glue will stick to the POM (or Delrin).
Usually that stuff is hard to glue.

As for CRP. It has a slightly higher density than POM, so the same design would have slightly more weight.
On the other hand CRP has a 10 times higher Young’s Modulus and tensile strength compared to POM.
So you could make the material much thinner when using CRP.
However, that is only practical to a certain extend. 8)

Again, great job! Keep us posted!

Thank you!

I milled and sanded the surface, that improved the glue adhesion a little bit.

It's still not perfect, when I pull the tires really hard of the rim, the glue loosens in some places. But I think it should be fine...

I never glued tires before, so it's a bit messy...

The hub adapter is 3d printed, acting as a breaking point for testing.

I am currently improving the axles and electronics, so unfortunately no testing in the near future..
