Dlux custom knuckles V2!

Since I don't have the wheels, I don't know yet. I'm replacing DH slug wheels that had a 1/2" hub for an overall width of 10.5".

Hi Erik, one little question, as I am using the spacers with the wraith chubs style, do u suggest using longer screws or the ones provided with the kit are long enough?

Thanks a lot!

Here is a couple photos of a front Ascender axle that I modified. I was asked to build something that was scale comp legal. What better to use than some of Erik's great knuckle weights. With my beef tubes and his knuckles we are close to 9 oz

Awesome steering even with the limiting stops.

"thumbsup"
Ernie.

Just ordered my set of Dlux knuckles for my XR10 build, can't wait to get these, heard their the bomb!

Using Dlux knuckles to run SCXII universals on my SCX10 and it is a lot easier than a XR mod.

The only mods are to shim between the universal and inner bearing to align the universal pivot axis with the knuckle axis, my truck required .8 mm of shims here (you can kinda see the shim stack in the pic). Then I had to file the little nub off the back of the 12 mm hex to compensate for the shimming.

Not bad for a scale truck. "thumbsup"

Awesome little write up!

So you simply put SCX2 shafts in an SCX length housing? I thought the SCX2 shafts were too long?

Not sure why you had to put shims in the knuckles. I am pretty sure all Axial style stubs are the same design. I cant tell from the pictures if they are inline or not but I will take your word for it.

The universals drop right into the housings, no issues there.

There must be a slight difference in the pivot location between the XR universals and the SCXII. Without shimming, the u-joint would bind so badly that the knuckle wouldn't turn. Afterwards, the whole setup turns smoothly during the whole steering range.
