Anyone have any experience with trying to buy a already registered domain name not in use...just a money making place holder page when you go to it.

I looked at the whois info, and its registered to moniker (an email broker/bidding site) so i'm sure they own it beings it was originally bought in 94...it expires in a few months.

I'm not sure if i want to place a bid if it ever goes to auction (backorder), because they may see that and put it into auction. Or go to like godaddy or somewhere and pay a broker for them to try and buy it. Not sure which will be cheaper

I have and they price they were trying to charge me was rediculous. I own RcFanatics.net (Free plug) and was in talks of trying to buy the .com site and the person had told me that the traffic to that site had gone crazy in the last few years (Since RcFanatics.net was up) and wanted a crapload of money. So I pretty much drove the price up myself..haha..
