I've always used a PC but we bought an Apple a few months ago and it's our main computer for the internet. I need to do some picture resizing so I can start putting up new threads for my builds. I need to be able to resize them to 800 x 600 like RCC requires. Do any of you guys have any solutions for me?
Much appreciated!"thumbsup"

Just sign your self up for a Photobucket account. Then you can resize, crop and rotate to your hearts content.

Cool, thanks. I guess Photobucket is Apple compatible? I saw where someone was using kissmyimage.com but it's only Windows compaitble. I'm new to Apples but so far they're pretty good machines IMO.

Or www.Imageshack.us

I typed free image resizer for mac into Google and read the first two hits. They have some sites to try linked.

I use Photoshop, but it is total overkill. But I got it for free.

I also use the Automator along with Photoshop to take care of some resizing, file size reducing, placing a border around the picture and stamping my name on it all in one shot with one click.

Preview and iPhoto can do some stuff. Try those too.

I'd just read some stuff on Google for a bit and you'll find a route you like.

If the goal is it post pictures on the internet/forums, just use Photobucket or Flickr. I like Flickr better than Photobucket as it just seems to flow better IMO and I too am a Mac user when not at work, damn work still uses PC's for some reason. We're always crashing.

You can in resize with preview, photoshops better tho. For preview just go to tools and then adjust size and then just change the pixels to what you want

Lots of good info here guys. Yea i know I should've googled before i asked but I was already on RCC and I knew a lot of you guys were Mac experts so I figured I'd ask. I've used iPhoto but as far as I can tell it won't get the size down below 100kb as required. Well, I check some of you guys suggestions and see what happens. I'm just used to my Dell where I could see exactly how many KB the pic was along side the actual size...very easy.
I know one thing I like about this computer is the ability to pull up as many web sites at once and be able to cycle thru them instantaneously. great multitasking ability."thumbsup"
Thanks guys!

I have been loving my new MacBook for the past several months now. I have been using AutoResizer I just created a macro in Automater to resize pictures from a right click (context menu), but I cannot find where the workflow is saved at to show up a pick on how to setup up.

Here's a link on how to do it http://mactips.info/2007/03/resize-images-with-automator

It also and a copy of his workflow to download.

dump the mac and stick w/ PC's"thumbsup"
apple corp. is evil:evil:

iPhoto 09 has direct to flickr uploads.... "thumbsup" No need to resize.

Set your camera up to take 2-3 megapixel size photos and you're good from the start.

If all you need is web viewing thats plenty large enough. Plus your camera will hold a ton of them.

Import to iPhoto 09, select what you want to send to flickr and up they go. Then log in to flickr and copy and paste the links in. No need to add attachments to your posts, plus you can add as many images as you like.

I've almost talked myself into not even wanting Leopard anymore, but that makes me want it again.

I forgot about that... maybe that's why I'm a fan of Flickr now:mrgreen:
