DT's WranglAR - Just another Jeep

My replacement WTF stinger showed up today, and Kevin Lutes nailed it! Zero interference with the Knight grill.

He also sent this very pointy angry looking pull pall, I get the feeling this thing means business!

Looks great DT. WTF makes some nice stuff.

I'm now thinking I should have got some Pit Bull tires, because the Trep's are not Pit Bull proof... These are not the first tires Camo has bit, but they are the first that I had to repair because of him...

My son opened the back door while I was driving, and before I realized what was happening a tan blur blew by me and was shaking the rig by the rear tire. It was a pretty big gash he tore in it... Bad dog...

This reminds me, I need to get some updated pics of the dog too, this is from when he was 11 months old. He has filled out a little in the 4 months since I took this.

Awwwww.....he just wanted to play with it, dad.

Lookin good, though!

Thanks! And I know he's just being a dog, I wasn't actually mad at him, just momentarily pissed off.

Tomorrow I take the WranglAR on its maiden voyage to rocks and trails. "thumbsup"

I still need to install headlights, taillights, and make a mount for my winch and get it wired in. But I did get the second light bar installed tonight, so if I stay on the trails passed sunset at least I will be able to see ahead of me. This sucker throws out quite a bit of light!

Insomnia got the best of me and I figured I could not go out tomorrow with out a winch, so I found some scrap 1/8" aluminum and mounted it.

Then I hooked up my winch controller and nothing... Grrrrr...

I tested the leads on the controller going to the winch and no voltage at any percentage on the radio. Tried the 4th channel, same issue. Plugged a spare servo into channels 3 and 4 and the RX is good, so I'll be contacting HeyOK about replacing the controller. Bummer...

PM sent , Was there a clicking sound coming for the Heyok 4amp winch controller when trying to run the winch line in or out ? ,, Robert

Nope, no clicking. The relays are toast and it is my fault. I should have bought the H version since I am running 7.4v to my RX. I've already talked with Al, he is setting up a new controller for me.

I had a great time at South Florida Scale Crawlers trail today. I was there for about 10 hours and drove a little over 1/2 of that. The WranglAR drives great! The 2.2 Treps just got better as the day went on.

How damn cool is that bamboo looking bridge Dicky! Your rig looks freaking sweet, not a bad thing to say!

How did it perform though? We're you pleased or is there tweaking yet to do?

☺️ Uhm maybe I'll read the little letters above the pictures next time before opening my pie hole😜

The trail is awesom there. The guys have put a lot of hard work in to it. The whole course takes about 45-50 minutes to do as a group. There is a great mixture of rock, bridges through the trees, and a few faster dirt sections.

It drove better than expected for a first outage. But there may be a little tweaking happening. It crawls and steers great for a baseline though, so it won't need too much.

Looks like a great place to run!

Hate to be critical.....But there's one little detail on your rig that could be done better. The stinger on the front bumper. It's nearly vertical; whereas a stinger on a 1:1 points more outward to keep the rig front nosing over going down a steep decent. Was just thinking maybe it could be tweaked a little to pull it forward and down a bit.

Still though...Love this build! Hopefully some day I'll be able to build something comparable. Maybe if I get rid of my Wraith.....

Thanks! and nope, I want the stinger stubby and in as flat as it is. It stops the rig when needed (got tested today, repeatedly) and it allows great approach angle.

To notch back (leaving the lower horizontal bars as shown)

or not to notch back?

That is the question...

I am leaning towards breaking out the dremel, cutting the notch, then figuring out some sort of bikini top for the rest.

I'm digging my G6 cage cut out. I just wanted to try something a little different. Your builds looking great

I like it better with the full cage. If you cut it I would tie the c&d pillars together.

Truck looks great! but keep the full cage and just make the bikini top."thumbsup"
