Hi folks, since getting a couple of bashers ... found myself looking at dual chargers. What would you guys recommend/purchase in 2025? Cheers (y)

Yup, afraid am not paying the $450 CAD for the UP11 that they're asking for. That UP8 looks similar to the D6 pro. Much thanks (y)

I've been using an IMARS D300 for close to a year now and like it. I bought a few of their GTech batteries too. The extra couple bucks is worth the convenience when you're charging multiple packs.

I have 2 atm. A Spektrum smart charger which works quite well, but a bit pricey for non Spektrum smart packs.

The other is a Hitec Duo X2. This is also a very nice charger at about 115.00 on Amain.

I had an older hitec x4 and on DC it was great but on AC, the output was kinda weak. Really only matters if you're charging larger packs, but it is something to consider when picking a charger. Obviously you could just add a DC power supply to get all the power, but that's something else to have to lug around if you travel with it.

Thanks guys, gives me a few choices now (y) Will be mainly for 3S packs between 5000 & 6000mAh and don't really want to be tied to one brand of battery so not overly fussy on the smart side but not ruling them out. Starting to lean to either the IMARS or the D6 pro ... again, much thanks (y)

I absolutely love the Gens Ace IMARS D300 that I upgraded to a while back - and Amazon has a 10% coupon at the moment - available in black or white.

Gens Ace Black IMARS D300

Gens Ace White IMARS D300

I picked up 2 DC adaptors for mine, one that lets me clip it to my 1:1 car battery terminals, and another that connects to the cigarette lighter socket - both have replaceable fuses so if something goes wrong you don't ruin the charger.

The EcoPower Electron Dual is a rebrand of the Gens Ace IMARS D300 - not sure why Amain chooses to charge more for it ($142.99 vs $129.99 on their site, and the Gens Ace can be found even cheaper on Amazon) - EcoPower stuff is usually a better choice for the money...

Yes it is. The only reason I went with it is because I found it cheaper than the d300 even on sale from flea bay. Even Redcats hexfly dual charger is a rebrand of Venom’s.

Hitec rdx2 would work well but getting close to maxing out at 3s 5-6000mah.

To be honest, most chargers now are still reliable when treated right.

Interesting, I have run mine off of the dc output from my bluetti portable power station and regular AC wall socket and did not notice any difference in charge but I only run normal balance charge cycles, no quick charging, etc.

The x2 charger is rated for 200w output which is generally less than 2 - 3s 3600mAh can handle at 1c charge rate(12.7v x 3.6A=45.72W each).

I have an old 12v dc power supply from an old computer but never felt the need to set it up for home use.

I have a bunch of chargers from Hi-tec, just because that's what my LHS sold at the time.
I tried one from SKY RC a few years ago, seems like they are the OEM or they also work with the same partners as Hi-tec.

I ordered it from zonehobbies.net
Their prices are decent and shipping within Canada seems to be pretty fast.

Isn't it 200w on DC and 100w on AC? It was only an issue for me when I was trying to charge batteries for my Outkast. IIRC it was two 5000mah 3s packs? It has been a few years and that thing is long gone so I dont remember for sure. I do remember I could do 10A on channels 1 & 2 on DC, but on AC I think I could only do 5A? Channels 3 and 4 were far more limited on AC.

The X4 is an old obsolete charger so not too relevant to the discussion, just wanted to point out that AC/DC chargers usually have a lower output on AC so it is a good idea to look it up and do a little math before you buy. You dont want to get stuck with something underpowered.

I have been really happy with the IMARS D300. Sometimes I consider buying another since my comp days usually have me charging a minimum of 6 packs.
