Duratrax Base coat

Browsing paints in my local shop, I noticed Duratrax has what they call “base backing cover coat.” The attendant (maybe owner) says it goes on the body first. I didn’t really inquire further. Anyone have any experience with it? Will it be helpful for the 2 color metallic / solid stripe paint job I’m planning for my current build? Please let me know your thoughts or experience. Thanks!

Typically a cover coat goes on last. I used the Base cover coat Black on my bronco to cover the silver on the inside. Layed down Silver first, then Black to even out the color and make it opaque. Also hides the paint when looking under the body.

That makes more sense. I guess having the word “base” just confused me. I suppose if the lexan body is the “clear coat” calling the backer a base makes sense. Thanks for helping to clarify!
