Rock Crawler
We're hopeing to add some events on the Western side of CT this year hopefully everyone can make them. Feel free to check out the site www.ecrccrawlers.com
These rules will be used at all ECRCC Scale Events. If you participate in the point series please read carefully. WE have written these rules to encourage a diverse group of rigs and driving styles..Enjoy.
ECRCC Scale Rules - Rig Guidelines/Specifications
Four Wheel Steer and Dig not allowed. If you rig has either you will need to remove it or "lock it out" to the judges satisfaction.
1.0 BODY
Body must be used. Body to be 1/12th scale or greater and retain 90% of its original form (judges decision is final). Drivers may provide photos of the 1:1 rig that is being replicated.
In the event of a metal or plastic tubed back half - 90% of the Cab must remain (so you could remove the doors and that would be it) and the tubed bed area must be big enough to lay a full size spare flat (same size as the rig runs).
In the event of a flatbed the flatbed must extend over some part of the tires (width). The bed area must be large enough to hold a full size spare tire flat (same size as the rig runs). Scale Appearance Bonus points may be awarded to bodies/tubing/flatbeds depending on build material. See SAB points for clarification
1.1 BUMPERS
Bumpers must be represented. Please see Section 1.2 WHEELBASE for further clarification.
1.2 WHEELBASE
Wheelbase is determined by the body’s fender wells. Tires must be centered within fender wells, +/- 1/4 inch.
In the event of a tubed backhalf or flatbed the center line of the axle may not prodrute beyond the end of the tubing or flatbed. See Section 1.3 TIRES for further clarification.
1.2.1 WHEELBASE CLASSES
Bonus points will be awarded to short wheelbase rigs. Rigs will fall into one of the following categories see Scale Appearance and Bonus points for further clarification.
9 3/4 and under inches
over 9 3/4 - 10 1/2 inches
over 10 1/2 to 11 1/8 inches
greater than 11 1/8 inches
1.3 TIRES
Tires may not extend beyond the front and rear bumpers. Tires must also be partially covered by fenders. In the event of a tubed backhalf or flatbed the front fenders must cover some portion fo the front tires. If the trailing edge of the rear tire extends beyond the flatbed or tubing a bumper must be extended from frame. Only Approved tires may run. Cut/Modified tires allowed.
1.4 TIRE DIMENSIONS
Maximum inner diameter = 2.2 inches
Maximum tire height = 4.75 inches
*Tire height will be measured with the rig supporting its own weight on all four tires. Measurement will be performed on a flat surface with a standard measuing device that will measure height from ground surface to uppermost surface of the tire (all tires must pass this requirement)
1.5 APPROVED TIRES
All manufacturers 1.9 or 1.55 tires, approved 2.2 Cut/Modified tires allowed
The following tires are also approved (some may need to be cut to fit the height rule: HPI: Geolanders RC4WD: Crazy Krawler, Gauntlet, Mudslingers, Outcroppers, Rock & Die, Rock Crushers, Rock Stompers, Rock Lox, Spooky Krawler. Junfac: Bighorns. Imex: Swamp Dawgs, All-T's, Rubicons, G-Hawgs. Integy: ECR2, ECR3, ECR4, ECR5. Axial: Rock Lizards. Proline: Moabs, Badlands, Hammers, Mashers, Masher 2000, FlatIrons
1.6 CHASSIS
Chassis must consist of two frame rails (comprised of a right and left side). Frame must extend to the centerline of both front and rear axles
1.5 MOTOR/TRANSMISSION
Vehicle is powered by a electric motor(s) directly or indirectly powering a central transmission or transfer case which sends power to both axles.
1.6 BATTERY
Must be mounted on/in chassis. Battery may not be placed on axle.
1.8 WINCHING
Is allowed with no penalty other than elapsed time needed for use.
2.0 SCALE APPEARANCE AND BONUS POINTS - For SAB points to be awarded all items must remain on vehicle throughout the comp - Drivers may take a repair penalty on course to repair/replace scale item to retain points. Scale items may not be replaced between runs/courses
