Purchased a lightly used RTR Wraith Spawn the other day and was told it had only been run about 5 times and only on grass.

What I was told is not a problem. The RC was purchased to rebuild.

I pull the trigger on the RTR transmitter and the RC moves forward about 15 feet then stops. Release trigger and pull again and RC moves forward. The action works in reverse also.

What would be the steps to trouble shoot? I did a search for (trouble shooting) prior to this new thread.

Thanks,
Tony

Was the battery fully charged? ESC's have a low voltage cut off built in to protect the battery and it would behave like you described. Depending on the ESC it may beep or flash a LED.

May need recalibrated as well. Is it set to lipo or nihm? Runnin nihm on lipo settin will make the esc think the battey is below cut-off voltage

Just to check the box, put new batteries in the radio. I had a car act up and after beating my head for a while I put new batteries in the radio and no more problems.

Do what everyone else is saying an recalibrate and possibly even rebind everything. Also, put in a full charged battery.
