Statics and thermal/sound dynamics may sometimes be combined.

But from what I have been told the physics classes are the real weed out classes.
I wasnt talking about acoustics or thermodynamics, I was asking about general dynamics.....changing mass problems, stuff like that.

Every lower level college course is a "weed out" class. No university wants morons graduating from their programs.
 
So, to comment on the beginning of this post (because its way to long to read) engineering is all based on geometry. Math is all able to be represented geometrically. Calculus is a quick means to and end. Anything in Calculus can be explained geometrically. Granted, the geometry to explain the calculus could take you years of your life to write out. However understanding the geometry behind the calculus will make you a much better engineer.
