i have an ezrun 1/18 brushless esc/motor i've been running in my son's maxstone 16 for some time. using it with a traxxas tq 2.4GHz system and 2s lipos. it is brushless so in a crawler it is a little rough at slow speeds but that is fine.

in the last couple days the truck has gotten a mind of it's own. it will get stuck slowly moving forward. sometimes when i flip it on the esc will jump right to full throttle. i recalibrated the throttle endpoints with the esc, set the punch to zero (very mild), set the esc to the max throttle neutral range. still keeps happening.

since it use to work fine is there a chance something with the esc has failed?

Try running the motor/esc without the steering servo, if the problem stops you might have a bad servo, try another battery, if none of these fixes work, chances are the esc has had it.

the servo is functioning but you think it might be causing some kind of surge or interference? i'll give that a shot. as far as the battery goes i have two batteries i use with it and the problems happen with both so i would think it's not the batteries.

it wouldn't be something like the cap on the esc has gone out would it?

i may have found the issue. transmitter batteries were low. i have another tq transmitter linked to this rig. when i used that one no issues. i changed batteries in the radio that seemed to clear things up.

just goes to show you it is usually the simplest things you should check first!
