I have always wanted a dually like many ppl way back to seeing the gold tub rc10 conversion kit. I started a og blackfoot using 1 good body and 2 beat ones i had laying in a pile a long time ago but stopped as i thought it was just to small. Now it sits unused for now.

Then one day searching all the forums like i do I saw the "Bigger in Texas" build (have you seen it if not you need to go check it out) so it was back to the dually. I sold a clod body i did with a custom drop bed and custom bed box and a set of 2.2 mud slingers i had sitting around and I didn't have plans on using anytime soon to get some things i needed. If anyone has that body post it up wanna what happened to it, I think it went to southern ohio.

I found this CC01 thing on ebay after looking for a while. Got it for like 60 bucks off the bay delivered. The rear shock mounts were construction adhesived in and rear axle moved like a inch side to side. The front was just as bad but hey what ever all the things i needed were just fine."thumbsup" I ordered new gears for the front as they were jb welded togther but now i can switch what i want locked or unlocked. Then i bent up a chassis you know the process by now.

clod002_zps9325c434.jpg

Then i cut the CC01 down to its needed size and filled in the holes that were left./

My power choice for the truck. A Tamiya 3speed with a dual motor mount i made from scrap. Tim the tool man taylor right MORE POWER

Since the chassis is done right now this things at least i think moves with a trailer and 9 pound jeep behind it./

Then i discovered delrin and how easy it is to work with, with my crappy home depot bench top brand saw. So i made a bracket thing to hold the front of the CC01 chassis to the frame rails. Then made new longer arms and rear axle leaf spring mounts. The white is a old plastic cutting board i used to try out my idea then just redid it in the delrin didnt want to mess up and wait for more delrin to show up in the mail.

The roof on the other hand wont stop sagging. Now i don't know if i said it or not but i started this truck last yr. and the roof sagged last yr. and i fixed it. I then set it down. Recently when i did get back at it the roof sagged again and i fixed it once more then again it sagged down were it is now. Also the doors sucked in on the bottom like the bottom of a 20 ounce bottle )( I'm not going any farther until its fixed, this will be 3rd time. Heres fix #1/

As you can see the side in the back against the floor is starting to suck in. When compared together I am happy with the size difference it's a lot bigger then the blackfoot would have been.

Now just a few random pix.

I don't really care for any of the hitchs out so i just made one using the rc4wd pintle hitch./

My dinky rc trailer almost finished.
rc261_zps14e592a1.jpg
[/IMG]/
My quick fix for its sagging problem. Now i don't have to have it loaded weird huddleing the trailer tires and can put weight on the tongue. I think it works pretty good.

So this is how it sits at this moment with roof problems./

What kind (brand and from what) of cab lights are ppl using? I have got the ford aeromax ones but they are to big.

Thank you every1, it's nice hearing someone likes what i have done other then my beer chugging friends who dont really understand any of this stuff. Now that being said this is by far the hardest body i've worked with its just so dam flimsy and thin. As you can see from the pix i've messed with them all i got a yj I probably won't finish and yoda im callin repo yoda long story sitting in the basement. O and just gotta say this, Of all the og blackfoot crewcabs i'm the only one with the proper center piller not even the "Chop Shop" got it right. Google it "85 ford f350 crewcab" and look close the rear has a dumb lil piece they all forget. Owell off to hobby shop ima cut that roof off start over. Thanx again everyone.

Like the others said, really nice work so far. I'm interested in how you will fix the roof and what the finished product will look like. I would like something like that to pull around some crawlers too.

Triggerman I got the idea from here, if you search "bigger in texas" that guy is amazing and got vids. I'm going to take pix as i go to show off my stupidity, try and post tonite or tomarrow.

Are the dually fenders on the Blackfoot crew cab from the step side Blackfoot body? Great job on the builds so far!!

Bigfoot yes sir the stepsides on the back are what i used. But I just used the front halfs because (i google everything) if you look at the real truck it has the same angle front and rear. I just in my haste didnt make them the proper length to fit the rc4wd dually rims and tires. So if you look there is a filler piece in the middle because i had to strech them. Measure twice, cut once i had a brain fart and forgot the basics. Half way through my nitemare fix, the doors are done only the roof left.

It took 3 blackfoot bodies to make that thing. My original from like 1989 or so and a couple junk ones i had laying around. Made 2 panels outta the remains for the bed, infront and behind the dually fenders so the body lines matched up. O and the computer crashed so ill update asap.

I had the same roof problems building mine! I ended up bending some aluminum to the proper roof curve, taping a piece of .080" styrene pulled tightly to the aluminum and then putting it in the over at 330 degrees until I saw the styrene take the shape of aluminum. Then bonded that in there.

Build looks awesome! I like how you made new arms and stuff. Wish I had delrin BEFORE I did mine. LOL. As far as I know this is only the second dually of this chevy body style! Awesome to see another builder tackle this. Looks like mine with some improvements. Love the 3 speed also!

EDIT: I looked back and in my thread post #74 finally shows my third roof attempt that was finally successful. Hope this helps!

Yea its all your fault!lol. I give credit were its do i just followed your basic plan, lil improvements here and there, and the fact the ford was started when i read about yours and i owned the tranny rims and tires aleady. You got the best rc dually i've ever seen period no competition, as making something stock looking is harder then making something modified in my opinion. And you thought outside the box and didn't start bolting stuff on cuz you can. Heck mine cost like half what my scx10 cost most expensive parts were the bodies, rims and tires. Yea roof is fixed now took like 15 pix just can't get computer to allow me to load from photobucket to here. I heated oven, made aluminium form, got it in just trying to get it all lookin as close to perfect as possible before i move on. Sheet you got the interior like wow.

Ok thanx to my buddy daviddavid for the use of his computer. First a pic for bigfoot..
tada001_zps9745df6b.jpg

Now on with my problem at hand almost called it over with this thing but it's all good now. I think i can hear it sagging more. I got 2 sheets because things happen.
rcd2267_zpsfec92848.jpg

It's sagged like a 1/4 inch or more. Not the best pix i'm learning as i go ppl, i'm a paper and pencil kinda guy.
rcd2264_zps8a7c88da.jpg

So it's all a problem so it all must go. Cut out the cancer. Panoramic moon roof maybe?
rcd2268_zpsb2b0f909.jpg

Look at that thing looks the the cross cut of a tree 4 layers in the middle 1 at the edge.
rcd2269_zpsdf3cad2e.jpg

And i found another body, does anyone have a beat up silverado cab they can part with this thing needs a matching crewcab mud truck on the trailer behind it like the f350 combo we've probably all seen.
rcd2270_zps2469c4d3.jpg

Then after it was all gone i cut a sheet of plastic in half. I took a piece of thin gauge aluminum and formed it with my knee to the contour i needed. Clipped the plastic to the metal and in the oven it went.
rcd2271_zps0317fa56.jpg

After it was nice and warm i grabbed it and threw it on the deck in the snow. Work with the weather man. I don't like painting in warm weather either. After it cooled it was just what was needed.
rcd2276_zps7068036a.jpg

rcd2273_zpsf8bb67b9.jpg

I took a peice of paper and taped up a square just bigger then the hole in the roof. I traced the hole so the new piece would fit right.
rcd2274_zpsdfdb5cac.jpg

Traced (easier thanx to the thicker edge of tape)the pattern on the curved plastic and cut that out. Then tried it out see how it fit. MMM like a glove.
rcd2277_zps4bb8113a.jpg

It fits nice so glue it on in there!
roofies001_zps2ad48c0f.jpg

Little bit of sanding little bit of filler good as new.

rcd2279_zpsb1d9e703.jpg

What cab lights do everyone use I got the tamiya ford aeromax but they r to big. I've seen smaller ones on f350s and looked and searched and nothing.
roofies003_zpsa829cffa.jpg

I got the doors straight but with all the problems everything went all weeble wooble.
mmmhhhmmm002_zps9a8727dd.jpg

mmmhhhmmm001_zps869a3189.jpg

Glue and stack that plastic up file/sand it out. My collection of empty bottles from the yrs. Don't know y i kept them.
roofies002_zps806ad37c.jpg
