Dude, I ordered a DVD player from circuitcity on the 17th. They shipped it from OK on the 18th and have a look at the trip it has had so far...

Mapquest says that this is a 683 mile trip from start to finish. FedEx has managed to turn it into a 3,510 mile trip, and it's not even scheduled to arrive until 1/31/07.

I think they should ban Fed-Ex and UPS and only allow USPS shipping services. I think shippers like Fed-Ex and UPS scare people who might want to ship something. Maybe only allow Fed-Ex and UPS to handle only business to business shipping, so normal people aren't turned off from shipping? "thumbsup"

Sorry... I had to. Really I did. i tried to stop myself, I even said, "self, don't do this!". I couldn't stop myself though. :-P

ROFL. I got a good laugh about that. Just promise me you won't follow me around and sniff my butt everywhere I go!

I promise. "thumbsup" It was just fresh, and easy to do.
Glad you were a good sport about it!

Ok, 10:55PM last night, USPS in Memphis, TN received electronic shipping info. Apparently, FedEx SmartPost is "an efficient, value-oriented, and timely way to ship high volumes of low-weight packages to residential customers." (according to their website). What they are supposed to do is ship the package to their nearest USPS hub and then let USPS bulk take care of it until it reaches its destination.

Efficient? Sending a package over 5x the miles necessary is efficient?

Value-Oriented? Value for them, maybe. But if it takes 2 weeks for a package to arrive, there really isn't any value at all.

Timely? Let's not even go there.

At 4:36AM, my package left Grove City, OH after sitting for 16 hours. Apparently, it is headed for Memphis. Looking at the map, the package actually passed through Memphis when travelling from Dallas to West Virginia.

Wow.

Here's one for ya.

My wife placed two orders, one right after the other, from Tower.

Both boxes shipped at the same time, only one arrived today.

Makes me wonder where the other box is headed.

If it stops in Vegas maybe I can take it to lunch.
It told me that it prefers Quizno's. Ultimate Italian with mayo, if it's not too much trouble.

That is not too bad. Try shipping to Alaska, they will not tell you where your package is. They just say it is on its way. Or they ship it to Anchorage to be ground shipped to SE AK. I found this out awhile ago when a package didnt show up I call up and they said it was on a truck in Anchorage waiting to be delivered that day. Well Anchorage is a 2 hour flight from me.

Where the star is at is where I am at. The red lines on the map are the state ferry line. Anchorage is to the northwest from me about 700 air miles.

Here's one for you guys, i sent a small package to kaetwo from my country to his home, it was roughly 3lbs in weight and 5-6 lbs in volume/weight they use, i had to pay $61.99 that's with a 40% discount:shock: , i have to say it got there in 2 days though, although it might have traveled to russia before it got to him:lol:

I had the same thing happen to me but with UPS, 300 mile delivery turned into 1500 miles and 2 weeks. Ever call them and ask about it, the responses are funny.

I sent someone a HDD for work, and they sent the old one back, but used one of UPS's ARS labels, but put my address in instead. The system goes by the bar code. So the package went from Arizona, to as far as Atlanta, up to Dayton, OH (where the ARS label originated from), back to Atlanta, and repeated this sequence 5 times before someone at UPS managed to (literally) catch it back in Dayton and send it to me.
