i've recently started pulling a trailer with my scx scaler and the rear is getting more droop than i like. i'm currently running stock proline 2-stage springs on my shocks. does anyone know of firmer springs that work with the proline shocks? i've searched around and can't seem to find any spring assortments that are compatible.

a related question. i'm not really familiar with the setup of 2 stage springs. given i want to provide more support on the rear of my rig to handle the added weight of the trailer what combo of firmer springs would be right? the shorter stage or the longer stage? my instinct says the longer stage but i was curious what others thought.

I set mine up just the opposite, I use softer springs on the main (long) spring and a very firm short spring, this allows the initial impact to flow nice and smooth then get firmer as the shock compresses.

that makes a lot of sense. i'll probably use that setup on mine.

Tamiya touring car springs also work well. I run them on my rig and was able to pick up a ton of different springs at a swap meet for $5.

i would like to find a cheap source for the springs. just looked up the scx springs on tower hobbies and they are $5-$6 a pair. i hate spending that kind of money to tune my rig. maybe i'll put up a post in the wanted section.

You should try your local hardware store. Many times in the nuts and bolts section they have a huge assortment of springs, and you can find something that will work for cheap. My local ace has a great selection, but the home depot not so much.

my pro-line shocks came with two sets of springs, the two stage set and a single spring that seems to be stiffer then the two stage set..........bob
