The rare opportunity to spend some time in the garage without interruptions came along so i seized the moment by trying my hand at bending up some 3/16" round stock into some sort of a bumper for my tiny truck. Here goes:
Used some of this:

Cut it with this:

Bent it with this:

Chamfered the holes with this:

Welded it with this:

Looks like this:

Couldn't leave well enough alone so I made a really simple rear bumper as well. The center attachment point is cool, I would like to put to hanging D rings on the left and right side to finish it up.

Will post when done

I don't have any brazing Rods but I had plenty of .030 Flux Core for my wire feeder:mrgreen: Some shielding gas sure would have been awesome to cut down on all the slag and weld spatter! Anyhow wanted to post this up. I am about to hit it with some paint then mount it up. Looks like ill be watching the ball drop soon as I'm done. Happy New year to all the Crawlers!

I'm having alot of fun tinkering with this little truck, but I really would like to re-do all these with tubing rather than roundstock to lighten up all this armor. It's sure added alot of weight! I'm not sure yet if that will be good or bad. The added weight seems to make the truck drive more lifelike which is really neat.

edit;
added some armor along the fender:
