thanks

Well, ask yourself these questions:
-Would you rather have a comp styled rig so you can go to comps and have top performance, or would you rather have a rig that looks realistic?
-What's your budget for EVERYTHING, including rig, battery(ies), charger, electronics if you're buying a kit, etc...?
-Would you rather build your rig yourself (a kit), or would you rather open a box, charge a battery, plug in, and go?

That will help you narrow it down and then we can further help. Folks on here could sit and suggest rigs all day long, but if they don't fit what you're looking for, we would be wasting our time.

XR10 - comp rig, very specific use, pretty decent in stock form. Expensive by the time you get all the parts to take it from kit to RTR

AX10 - old design shafty "comp style" rig. Axles and tranny are keepers, the rest will be replaced. Inexpensive to get started.

SCX10 - pretty decent from the box. Will never perform as well as a custom AX10 but the scale aspect is cool and you will be upgrading, not replacing 3/4 of the parts.

Wraith - does everything Ok and nothing excellent, but a great platform to build from if you know what you want to end up with and have the budget to do it.

im in the same boat as you...im having a pretty hard time deciding on what to get...i wanted a AX10 at first now i keep hearing people say in its stock form its not very capable...so now i have been comtemplating a SCX10 possibly. its a hard choice to make for sure

One more note on the AX10. The rig is a lot of fun out of the box. It's problem is that crawling has evolved so far in the short time since it was first released that if you are driving with other people with modified rigs you could quickly get frustrated with how much more capable they are.

On the plus side if you buy things like tires used and you are willing to learn to do things like build your own links the modifications needed are not that expensive. I spent about $100 getting my AX10 to a level I found acceptable. Sure I won't win a comp with it, but it's good enough to play on a comp course and have fun.

Asking which is more enjoyable is a tough question. They both are enjoyable. Just depends on if you want to enter compititions or just play around it the yard. If you want to compete, it can get real expensive real quick.( there is always something cool or new to buy for your rig.)
I am not able to get to the comps due to my work schedule. So i like the scale side of things. They are not as capable as a full comp rig. But, look more realistic. And personally doing a trail run with a handfull of scale rigs is way more fun than the actual comp. And if you are handy you can build many of the parts for your scaler. So figure out what you want to do with it and how much money you want to spend on it.

well after hearing that is either of the losi's a descent comp rig out of the box?

Either Losi is a more capable rig than ax10 (stock vs stock), my wife runs a Losi comp crawler at our comps. It is 90% stock. It is my old rig and the only thing really holding it back is ground clearance. The good things about the losi...when you let off the gas, it stops. (worm gears in axles) the ax10 will roll on steep inclines so you have to hold the gas to keep it from rolling. Also the losi has ton of steering angle compared to ax10. One bad thing about losi is they do require more maintenance.
