In my head
I was reading up on the Hitec 5995 and 5955 and have seen that alot of people have burned them up/ had problems with them very quickly. My question is of the people that has had problems: Where you using a radio that had EPAs? And if you got the servo fixed are you still having problems?

I'm running a TXT with Hitec 805 1/4 scale servos and I'm alittle disappointed with their performance. I can't decide between the Airtronics 94359Z and the Hitec 5995 or 5955. I've read that the 359 is very reliable but I'm concerned that it won't be strong enough on my truck. I would love the power of the 5995 but I would like for it to last more than 3-5 runs before burning up. I saw that the 5955 has heatsinks but it's a little less powerful than the 5995.

I have ran the 5995's without issue for a while, on 7.2 volts a few times too. The case did get plenty hot though. EPA's adjusted well.

You really cant go wrong either way, they are all nice servos.

Thats odd i run 5955's and 5995's and now i'm thinking on trying the 805's!

They are great servos though! Never had a problem, just always looking for more!!

One may want to try out the Hobbico CS-80 giant scale servo. I used that in my TXT for a bit and was very happy for only paying $30. Im about to try out the 5955's on my clod pretty soon. Ill be back with more input on those. Im not worried about the EPA's (using an M8 or DX6), Im worried about keeping them stalled for long periods of time. Id figure the heat would be what would kill them.

According to Hitec's site the 805 is rated at 275/343, the 5995 333/417, and the 5955 250/333 (all rating 4.8v/6.0v). The 5995 can be ran at 7.4v which I assume would be even stronger. I think you already have more.

I think the Hobbico CS-80 is a relabeled Hitec 805 all the spec are exactly the same and I've heard other people say their the same. So yea $30 is a good deal for those.

Another reason I'm wanting to go back to the smaller servos it mounting the 1/4 is taking up too much room. It's killing my front approach angle (and mne is mounted higher than most others I have seen).

So if I use my new DX-6 and get the 5995s adjust the EPAs.....I shouldn't have any major problems?????.....Hopefully????

First you go away from 1/4 scales whats next, you gonna be pulling a csr next year Mr. clod?

I have smoked a couple 1/4 scales and broke 1 but I will stay with them although the 5995's seem nice.

I won't say never, but as long as I can stay competative with the less superior truck I'll run it.

It's not the truck...

"It's gotta be the shoes"!

*On Topic*

My wife has... "Planned for me" in the next couple of months...
A Hi-Tec SRX 3 channel radio
a 5995
& a 5955 for my Clod.
So I'll let you know...

If anyone knows why I should get two of the same... Please let me know which ones & why...

i have the 5995 and 5955 on my maxx crawler running 12 cells one lathe and a normal TQ3 with no problems, make lots of noise but havent broken yet

Why I'm I seeing so many people running the 5995 and the 5955? Why not 2 5995s or 2 5955s. Leaning toward the 5995 for the extra power, too bad it don't have the heat sinks.

Yeah, I was kinda worried about the lack of heat sinks as well. But I am running 5995's front and rear and haven't had either over heat, yet. I also don't do a lot of running, about the only time I drive is during a compitition or get together.

Airtronics 94359Z

I have 2 of them and have had no problems. They are fast and can be run on a big truck. Even at 200oz's they seem to have more and never run hot.

Airtronics makes the best servos out there, highly recommended.

and yes I have fried a Hyjunk robot servo.

I went ahead and ordered the 5995 yesterday. Hopefully they hold up! I usually only run this truck in comps; not backyard bashing. If the Hitecs don't hold up I guess I'll be trying the Airtronics, I'll put the 5995 on the TLT's surely they would hold up in it!!!
