Futaba 4PL Setup, Tips, Tricks & Help

Those can be assigned to those functions but the dig button is not momentary. It's not something I asked for because I don't like that setup. Sometimes you need to dig for awhile and holding the button is not something I find as efficient. Sorry man.

Thank god!!!! I hate holding the button down

Thanks for the quick answer "thumbsup"

I'm running momentary since my old DX3 and get used to it. Yes, sometimes you need to hold dig for a while, but max. time is 5 minutes, that's no problem for me

What i love most about momentary is that you only have to lift your thumb to get back to 4WD. But everyone has his own prefernces and that's no point of issue for me.

The PL is a great radio, that's for sure.

Greetings Frank

Just got my radio back from Futaba.

The update is perfect!

They did exactly as I asked without compromise. The update is available immediately and I will have all the info up on how to get around noon today. All new production models will now include the update from the factory.

Models with the serial number starting with "B010" are the only models that need updating.

OK thats it. The hell with the 4PKS now. This way I can get the 4PL radio and my xr10 for the price of the PKS (amost) WOW!!!

Thx for this update as I planned on buying the 4PKS on Friday. LOL.

Now I'm FRIGGEN so happy. More money torwards the FXR x 2 setup and motors and i'm done. Just got me the Dynamite Passport ultra charger and the HS-7950TH. I'm gettig there. Soon I will be joing all you rock climbing dudes."thumbsup"

No time is correct, its been out what like a week and a half,

Waiting for address and Information to send it off.

Thanks for all the hard work and info in this thread Harley.
I just ditched the girls 3PKs and my 4PL is on it's way. Looking forward to getting her dual steer MOA going for Christmas. Depending on the date my radio was made will I need to send it in for any updates or will it all be sweet out O the box?
Gonna get another rx and run the Summit of this one as well."thumbsup"

There will be no way to tell what serial number range you are getting or when the current models are sold from which distributor. Beat bet is to just pick one up and have it updated if you got one of the first batch.

Steven,
I would go ahead and get one. They are re-printing the manual and are just starting production of the new radios. It could be a couple months before they arrive.
Get it and send it in and have it before Christmas "thumbsup"

Thank you Josh and Jason for your hard work on this radio system, just placed my order. "thumbsup""thumbsup"

How to have your radio updated

If your radio has a sticker on the left side under the charge port that starts with "B010" or "B011" then you need to send it in to get the latest update.

To do so, package your radio up and place a note in the box with a note saying that you want the latest update software for the 4PL. Do not forget to give your name and address!

Send the radio to this address:
Hobby Services
3002 N. Apollo Drive, Suite #1
Champaign, IL 61822

Turn around time, not including shipping should be a couple days.

If you ordered now than you will need to send it in. The newest radios are just now starting production. They were waiting until the update was approved. It could be a couple months before they are over here, there really is no way to give you an exact date.
