I bought a 4pl as primary radio for 4 rigs and I need another for backup or when I have someone driving one of my other rigs. RX's would the ones that came with radios and I thought I could use RX R2106GF 6 channel in the other two rigs. Would the 3pl work as a backup/second radio? Or do I suck it up and buy another 4pl? Just trying to keep cost down. Thanks. "thumbsup"

Futaba 3PL 2.4 GHZ
Futaba 2PL 2.4 GHZ (discontinued)
Futaba 3PRKA (may not have subtrims and expos)

The new duratrax models also have a Futaba FHSS compatible transmitter but I do not know the model number for it.

I was just reading Futaba website and looks like the 4pl RX only works with it. I'm guessing I'll need to buy another 4pl.

No need to, the 3pl works great as a back up radio for the 4pl. That is what i use, it also works great as a radio to lend when others want to drive your rigs,it doesnt have an externall antenna so if dropped it is less likely to break.
