Gear Reduction Box

id buy a couple! thats twice the price of a gd600 with bolt in capabilities and looks to be pretty strong
SOLD.. ill be watching for this for sure!

if it'll fit the WK it'll potentially fit any 540 application if there's room for the offset. Dunno if this is better/worse value than going for a better motor or a brushless rig though?

Mhmm, the stock WK transmission's ratio is 23:1, which is already too high. This box's ratio is only 7.56:1.

it says the new drive ratio is 174:1 with teh reduction unit. The ratio of the reduction unit itself is 7.56:1, the 23:1 I think is the final drive ratio.

My only thing as that I think this would slow it down TOO much. I already have a max speed of walking pace, so slowing it down even more would suck for those situation where you need wheel speed. I guess you could go brushless, and that would help... I'm too cheap for that...

^ Exactly, so the reduction unit would not work well in a remote motor setup, eliminating the spur and pinion gears.

Lets say you wanted to use this reduction unit with a Pede tranny as a transfer case. Your total reduction (minus the axles) would end up being 20.56:1 Thats higher than a Wheely King transmission which is already too high.
