I was checking out the Redcat site and it appears they have a lot of aftermarket goodies coming soon for the Gen 8. Aluminum axle housings, steel trans and transfer case gears etc. Check it out! "thumbsup"

I'm sure you'll see an aftermarket modeled 3d printed skid, but it will raise the entire transfercase and battery tray up, taking that much room away from an interior. After having run the scout, I think the keyboard warriors have made that hump a much larger issue than it is in reality.

I agree. I didn't have any issues hanging up at all. I don't think it's going to be a problem.

I just had mine out again today in one of the local comp spots. The hump is still not an issue for me. The truck continues to do great with no issues. Hell, even the stock tires & foams were good in our 65° temps today.

Nice. Wonder if anyone will make a de-humped skid.
ShenRC did. Based on how he did it, it looks like it can be done without raising the battery tray up very much, which is great news. I think we'll start seeing plenty of aftermarket skids that will clean up the hump and the openings at the end of the link areas.

Also worth noting is that Recat is posting up free 3D models on Thingiverse for door handles, badges, grills and more are being added every day.
I wouldn't be surprised if Recat themselves had a new skid soon, thought maybe they'll stick to the cosmetic stuff.

I really like that they've done this.

Oh and on the hump I'm not a fan of it but it wont deter me from this rig. I have seen these kind of humps act as a pivot point when high centered on it, the truck might do a full 180 before freeing itself as it is will just pivot around the hump. but not a deal breaker.
