Gen8 Batteries?

will a 8.4V 7cell Nimh battery work in a stock gen 8 or do i need to upgrade a motor or esc with a higher turn? if so any motor recomendations?

If sticking brushed, Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Sport 550 21t or 27t would be my budget choice.

FYI, Check the manual to verify the position of the jumper located on the ESC that changes the battery input from LIPO to another type of battery.
